The CSR said the VP30BB500 promo code only gave a $10 credit for the $30 unlimited email data package not the 500MB package.

Bill dept screwed up ... next bill it's adjusted.

MASSIVE UPDATE

Just found out there was an error in the Roger's system & misinformed CSRs.

If you signed for the new Blackberry, iPhone or Windows Mobile Data Value Package between the dates of Nov26 - Dec15 & you were informed there was a $10 discount or 33.3% discount for NEW Data a customer, that’s a negative.

Here's the confusion...

A) $10 Discount - Blackberry (Only)

This is not valid for the $30 BB Value Pack with the 500mb of data,

It's for the BlackBerry Messaging Value Pack | $20.00/month
Includes:
Personal Email on Blackberry
Unlimited Instant Messaging*
Call Display with Name Display
Enhanced Voicemail
10,000 sent Text/Picture/Video Messages
WhoCalledTM

B) 33.3% Discount
This Discount is for any ADD-ONs that's not part of the Data Value Package.

Here’s the thread I got the info from in November.
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1464576

Here's the thread I found today
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1480812

All those lucky people who got the discount either on the Blackberry or the iPhone as a new customer to data, you guys are really lucky! (Discount $10.00 for the next 3 Yrs for this package)

"i got my bill, and totally got gypped, with no $10 credit off the $30 data value plan. When i spoke to the rep who did the change for me, i asked her specifically that it is $30 data plan minus $10 credit = $20 for it, she was like, yes it is. And then i asked her wat the breakdown of my bill would look like, she was like it will be $40 dollars ($20 dollars for the voice plan + $20 for the data plan, plus a bunch of other credits INCLUDING the $10 credit on the data plan) plus SAF and 911, which should be like 47 something. So After tax it should be 53 something. Well my bill came as 65 something.

Where should i call to to talk about this issue? will they give me backt hat $10 credit that i was offered for?"[/b]

Just looked at my bill and the credit of 33.33% on the iPhone $30 value pack wasn't there, I gave Rogers a call and they sorted it out, they told me to pay my bill, less $10. Everything is sorted out for me.

Yeah I did that last month too ... the discount wont be showing up on any of our bills, since it's not to be applied to our Data Value Package.

Bright Side of things ... Thank GOD for the EPP plan that covered me, I was paying before for a cheese ass VP + Smartphone Value Pack + 6.95 +0.50 = $64.00 + many mins over

So there is NOT a sweet ass discounted $20 500mb data plan?

Waiting for them to give me my new Bold at work before I made the push to the data plan.... was hoping for this

Someone posted previously about the new $17.50 200mins evening+weekends @ 6pm.... however instead of the 200mins they got 300mins.

I called into rogers and they said that was an Air Canada plan and i obviously wasn't eligible since I don't work there. There was also an Air Canada plan that had 250mins all for the same... $17.50.

Does anyone know how I can score that plan? Fuck, rogers is being tight once again!

Just hustled a new 3yr contract with FIDO

- 200 anytime minutes
- unlimited eve/wknd starting @ 7
- unlimited fido to fido
- UNLIMITED INCOMING
- call display, name display, enhanced voicemail etc
- 2500 outbound text
- incoming text free (fido standard)
- system access fee, 911

$25 dollars + tax = $28,25

used 80 dollars in FIDO DOLLARS towards the purchase of my new iphone, so the phone came in at around $200.

i was their client for two years, always paid my bills on time and just asked for the best deal they can offer. To say the least im pretty happy

Now i need a deal on a data plan!

They do have a legit reason to reject you & you cant get mad dude.

Airmiles, Esso & Petro cards all work for this plan.
I used Esso to get mine.

i don't know why companies bother to advertise things as "unlimited".. all these plans usually have a softcap that isn't advertise or explicitly mentioned, but buried somewhere deep in the Fair Usage Policy.

Why not just print 10,000 txt messages in the advert.. the 'unlimited' thing is so misleading i don't even know why it's allowed.

They assume the average person cant reach those limits, then when it's done they give you a few warnings here and there ... i think its fine, as long as the limit isn't too low and cheap
