You know, I sometimes wonder if Internet conspiracy theorists are actually pulling some sort of elaborate double-bluff on behalf of the government. The September 11th attacks could have been carried out by the US government but there's no way in hell I'd believe it anymore because I've read so much ridiculously stupid shit from idiotic conspiracy theorists I just can't take the idea seriously anymore. Nice going guys.

They claimed responsibility because they most likely did it. Honestly, what straws are you trying to grasp at here? "Fall guy for the administration"?? lol easy there. More like he could simply be "the fall guy" period.

not trying to create straws, im merely trying to get to the bottom of your opinion on the issue(s). its easy to stand on the sidelines throwing shit, i was just trying to see whether it was for shits and giggles or whether you're one of the retards that really thinks OBL is a figment of imagination. im very relieved (seriously) that you are not.

I simply asked because I don't see how one situation would influence the other into being true or false. Those 2 conditions are completely unrelated.

Osama is definitely not a figment of the imagination. Although I did only hear about him after 9/11 (it's that event that really started my interest in all of this) I've read enough to know that he's a real person. At the same time though; I do wonder why it's taking so long to find him. I'm not saying that the CIA is perfect but it's the complete lack of effort. Instead they're in Iraq occupying a country that was apparently an immediate threat to the ideology of democracy.

they're related IF ummie was making the argument that OBL was let off because he's really a secret CIA asset and the attacks were planned by the US government. In my opinion the fact that OBL hasnt been caught yet is hardly reasonable grounds for suggesting (as he did) that AQ were innocent of the attacks.

well, that's a different discussion to the one that started all this to begin with, but i do agree. as far as the "lack of effort" goes, let's not underestimate the members of AQ and their ability to outsmart the US.

Not to my knowledge, although I wouldn't be surprised. It's just something I've thought for a while. I've heard good conspiracy theories before but the overwhelming majority are just ridiculous, and it doesn't help when the people spouting them keep blabbering about "not having the veil pulled over their eyes by the media" and other pretentious blather. It's hard to be cynical about the government when everyone who does so is a nutcase.

how much of an epic win would it be if Canadian troops caught his ass?

I always felt that something was up with the crash into the pentagon. It wasn't a nose dive, it was almost level to the ground.

I reckon anyone who's played Microsoft Flight Simulator could manage a competent crash. I don't see why a US-operated plane/guided missile/whatever would crash any differently to a plane piloted by suicidal terrorists.

For every thought-provoking piece of evidence out there (and most conspiracies have a couple) there's four or five ridiculous ones. I once saw a 9/11 conspiracy site with a photograph of a helicopter over NYC. The theorist was claiming that this helicopter was hovering to detonate the explosives in the towers before flying off while obscured behind the smoke cloud.

I mean... the problems with such a theory go on for paragraphs. Why would the explosives be detonated from a conspicuous helicopter and not anywhere else in the city behind closed doors? The helicopter's flight would only be obscured from specific angles, not from an entire urban sprawl. And what is so sinister about a fucking helicopter in the sky at that point? There were news crews and probably even civilian pilots flying around like swarms of flies around a dying animal.

Most theories you read are as paper thin as the one I just described. These theorists are like children having flights of fancy, and then they give you all this "through the looking-glass" rhetoric when you point their crazed logic out to them.
