Of all the female friends that I've had that I have been attracted to and wanted to go out with, I tend to not really keep in contact with them that much.

I don't know if it's just me but I can't be really good friends with a girl I want to date. It's one or the other, no in between.

IMO it's often beneficial just to keep those feelings inside. The "let it all hang out" mentality usually doesn't resolve much of anything. Usually that's enough. When my friends have crossed the line I told them I didn't like it or it was inappropriate, etc...even if it was just "harmless" flirting.

Are you serious? 99% of us don't know what non-verbal communication is, let alone understand the nuances of it. That's why it makes me laugh when you say you've made your intentions around your male friends "perfectly clear". And that's exactly why I'm very conscious of my own non-verbal cues...because everyone ELSE tends to be fucking stupid. People may not be conscious of it, but they do pick up on stuff like that.
