i wish more people would admit that the babies they are related to are fucking ugly, which they invariably are.

you just hate babies because they were behind the U.S. govt-backed conspiracy that is 9/11.

How can anyone hate babies? Next someone is going to say they don't like veal either.

I'm not to fond of babies either.

About two years ago i held up my first baby, strait arm under his armpitts lol.

A month ago i actually held a baby for about 2 minutes untill he started to cry and i tossed him back to mommy.

It's odd, all i want to do is punt them.

Nah... Sylee's talking about her nephew reminded me of my niece and that I'm not a robot after all. However, it is true that I have no affection for unrealted babies/kids, and my brother's daughter is the only one in my family I'm related to.

I don't want children because I am sort of a violatile dickface over a long enough period of time. I can rarely be arsed to bring myself to any sort of appointment, much less ferry my own ill-begotten spawn around to things I couldn't possibly care less about. It's not because I truly believe I am better than them, it's because I am a selfish prick.

That aside, do some of you actually think you are that much more special than other people's children? That you're far more clever or intelligent or educated, or that even any of those things are important at all? That kids are beneath you because you're just sooooo fucking smart?

I think you're on to something there. I am not open to adoption becuase I have a hard time believing I could love a child that came from someone else as opposed to my own. Plus, I'd fear for the inevitable point in that kid's life when he/she would want to seek out their "real parents" and find out what happened.

While I don't go out of my way to hold a baby and don't emote over them as much as their mother (which is only natural), I still think they can be pretty cool. Every once in a while I'll be shopping or stuck in line caught up in the hum-drum motions of everyday life, when this baby ahead of me in line will start looking at me with those big bright eyes and make those funny expressions. It makes me laugh and forget about all my troubles. I know sappy right.

It's not that some people may feel more special or better... it's a matter of being unable to relate to them. Nobody is saying they won't be clever or intelligent when they get older, but for christ's sake... of COURSE we as adults are much more educated, wise, and clever than a 10-30 pound ball of flesh that doesn't know how to use a toliet or speak in coherant sentences.

Exactly right. It's as though people are unaware of the fact that kids are kids, and their inability to accept something that is different to them seems a monumental weakness, if you ask me.

For the record, you're not one of those people I was talking about. Truly, being able to relate to someone is important, and of course it makes a difference in some way or another, but to hate children merely because you don't 'get them' or have to 'dumb yourself down' seems immensely arrogant, and actually untrue considering many of the people saying such things.

I've found that my opinion of kids has pretty much followed the course of this thread.

At first I was like "i don't really care for kids that much"

Then come all the people who absolutely love kids and feel the need to pound their love of kids into your skull over and over and over "omg isn't my cousin/son/adopted son so cute?!?!?!?!?" until you're yelling "I FUCKING HATE GODDAMN KIDS."

Exposing me to more children has actually made me dislike kids even more. I would much rather enjoy a pet dog or cat than a kid. It's pretty simple no kids = me happy. It's just a preference and on top of it i don't think kids could fit into my lifestyle anytime soon.
