There it is. Once upon a time Canada used to have crazy strict immigration laws like requiring people to prove that they had $100K in assets. Of course money isn't everything, and even if it was, I wouldn't say we should go to that extreme... but the fact of the matter is that when you bring in mass numbers of people from poverty-stricken, war-torn third world countries, AND mandate multiculturalist policies whereby these people are encouraged not to assimilate, you are in effect importing the war and poverty from said countries.

But there is an immediate problem here that is more important than the politics. As someone else said, this has all the markings of a Caledonia 2.0. This is a chance for Toronto and Ontario to prove that they have a police force that isn't completely impotent, that isn't more interested in collecting fines from drivers who had a glass of wine at dinner than they are in actually keeping the peace. Or, it's their chance to reinforce those same stereotypes, in a much more populated and urban area than last time.

I wonder just how seriously this government takes the policing issue. I think we're about to find out.

on a more serious note, I have a friend living in caledonia and its no fun. We need to grow some cohones (or cojones however its spelt) and take care of such incident. Incidents like this should not last more than 20 mins. Bring the Anti-CZ task force or what not, i dont care.

This is a very common tactic used by terrorist groups against organized police/military forces. Maybe after seeing it right here in Toronto, some folks on the sidelines will rethink their cynicism over the idea of it happening in other parts of the world.

Yes, it's harder, but there are only two options: Either put the children at risk, or allow them to hold the entire city hostage indefinitely.

There are a variety of non-lethal weapons and other riot control methods that could be used here in order to stop this "protest" while posing minimal risk to the children and to all of the other protesters. There will still be some risk. This is not the fault of our own police force. The children should be considered hostages, and the youths... they may very well be there by choice.

I literally am 10 metres from the protest, it is directly outside my window... I could probably throw something at them and hit them....and i would love to at this point... my dog is going ape shit and i have to be up @ 5am.
