What? Brock Lesnar is a tremendous talent. He has a lethal combination of brute strength, quickness, and a decorated wrestling background. Lots of people forget he was All-American in wrestling.

you call a semblance of skill being NCAA Division I National Champion, sporting a collegiate wrestling record of about 110-4, is it?

Posted by SuspicionVandit on Jul-12-2009 10:13:

but mooommmmmm, he's an asshole. I don't wanna say he has skill.

Bisping was the highlight of the night. No doubt one for the highlight reels of all MMA. It's always disturbing to see a man go stiff like that.

Also, Royce v GSP.

Nobody forgets it, it is just that brock acts like a grade A jackass.
Some love it, most hate it.

I have to eat my words because my boy Bisping got knocked the fugg out. I was wrong.

when he's trained, Bobby Lashley. He's bigger and a stronger mat-based technician than Brock was as a wrestler.

semblance of skill at present. that was 10 years ago, and even then, it was because of his size and strength--not so much because of technique. Hell, he weighed 20 lbs more in college than he did at the weigh-in this week.

The point isn't related to people who regularly watch the UFC, but that there were a lot of people (millions) watching last night who had never watched a full night of MMA, if a fight at all. A lot of those people were holding off because of the stigma it's gotten in most press, and that hit by Henderson probably scared a lot of those potential fans back off from the sport again.

Dana Wants Fedor!

Fedor would be amazing to pin against Brock. But there is also that Cain dude.

but wow, how could Bisping not see that punch coming, thats all he threw! The punch after was kind of funny in that Hendo jumped up, but it was totally unnecessary. I don't mind it, but I know others will.

GSP made Alves look like a no talent ass clown, which is amazingly hard to do. Alves is a dangerous bad ass fighter. good fight.

And the belcher Sexyama fight I could see going either way. It was not highway robbery. But a judge ruled it 30-27 lol. I truelly thought they mixed up the fighters when they read the cards. oh well!

go fedor!

that was the first time in watching a fight that I've thought someone got paid off.

Alves didn't look like he was in shape--more like he was just hoping to knock gsp out with a high kick in the first 30 seconds and forgot he would have to fight after that.

Dana's not exactly a huge fan of people messing with his money (EA Sports, anyone?). They refer to him down here as 'Dola White.'

One can only hope he sends brock back to his shanty.

I had it for 30-27 for Akiyama as well. I could see the third going to Belcher, so maybe 29-28 or 30-28 is the better score, but I'll stand by my 30-27 at least until I rewatch that round. To be honest, though, if it wasn't for Goldie & Rogan's typically horrible commentating, I have to think most of the angst would be directed at Douglas Crosby's scorecard...

Posted by Inertia on Jul-12-2009 16:41:

Akiyama won because of takedowns i'd say. they're very favored in the scorecards.

but what i really wanted to see was GSP finish that triangle from Alves's back.

I thought it was very uncool.

well i must say st. pierre sure knows how to bring a nigga down to the ground.

i was surprisingly into it last night. we left after st. pierre/alvarez though.

Dana Must have jumped Brocks ass after the fight for pulling that classless WWE shit.

I didnt see anything wrong with Hendo's follow up. I think watching the slow motions of that make it look way later than it was. Hendo's the home town hero in my book. I used to really like Bisping but he got way too cocky and couldnt wait to see him get KO'd.

Agreed! They are the worst commentators in the business. They should actually have Mir commentate, he does a kick ass job for WEC.

Fedor against Brock would be amazing.

And Joe Rogan is the man.

to all of you saying henderson was dirty:

watch fighting more, because you don't know what you are talking about. Until the ref stops you, you keep punching until the guy is dead. I've seen a few times were a guy takes mercy, stops hitting, and ends up losing the fight because he didn't take a "cheap shot".

if you are gonna fight, expect to get punched in the face, you fucking pussies.

am i the only person in the world that likes bisping????
