The phrase that seals the creepiness factor is at 2:54 "I save them"

2.0/5.0 average movie imo

brief and ambiguous churchill

other than that a bit over the top

that's like criticizing mj for being flashy.

Posted by winston on Aug-22-2009 19:29:

I'll give it a 3.0 as it develops onwards in French and German dialogues, but very well constructed; both are very beautiful languages, other than that...Tarantino, what can be said that hasn't been said before.

Were you expecting a history lesson or something?

Fuck You

No, fuck you, you tool-bag bitch.

You don't go to a Tarantino movie and expect a historical documentary. You think because Brad Pitt mentions 'nazis' in the previews that you're about to watch a WW2 flick like Saving Private Ryan? It's fucking Tarantino, what the fuck WERE you expecting?

"Like, omg, I was with this girl last night, and she only got a 2.0/5.0, brief and unsatisfying sex, other than that, she totally had boobs."

What kind of moron are you?

Posted by Meat187 on Aug-22-2009 21:29:

Just came back from it and I must say that it sucks.
Had it's enjoyable moments but far to few to compensate for over 150 minutes of sheer boredom and annoyingly stupid Tarantino-esque wanna-be-cool-and-different-like-whoa-over-the-top scenes. 5/10 at best.

Yeah but Tarantino was a producer so he obviously had his hand in it. His scent was all over Death Proof too, and that movie could have been a lot better IMO because, to elaborate on the other dude's point, there was too much damn talking between those girls... made it unnecessarily drag out.

Don't do it!! One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Awful. Drinking bleach would be more productive.

Posted by lenazi on Aug-23-2009 14:48:

so, this was no pulp fiction...but this was better than pretty much anything else hollywood has been churning out as of late. I was entertained, but as i said before i really like nazis.

The way of the gun is only worth it for the first scene, then you can turn it off.

It was either this or District 9 to see. Ended up watching D9 (which is awesome btw) but looking forward to seeing this too.

I should hope so, he was the director.

whooops... you're right. I thought Rodriguez directed both while Tarantino produced both.

I don't think we've met. I don't recognize you from the couple of pics you've posted (thankfully, not THAT one). I spent most of my time at Stereo on the dancefloor with my eyes closed. I also went to a lot of Morales parties, which I somehow doubt you were a big fan of.
As for Mtlnights, I just lurked there for the most part. The attitude / double life personality presence was too much for me to handle. James and Jules were my favs.

Posted by Cloudburst on Aug-23-2009 20:09:

Back on fucking topic.

Saw it earlier today. I was very much entertained. I thought it was great.

PS. I've only had one bad movie experience (annoying kids talking, mobile phones etc @ blair witch project). I guess we are more civilized than FL (which doesn't say much I guess).

Posted by Meat187 on Aug-23-2009 21:01:

Yesterday this chubby guy and his girlfriend were sitting next to me, eating potato chips with some cheese dip that stank like a rotten corpse. On the bright side it offered some distraction during the endless scenes where Tarantino tried to force his wanna-be witty and clever crap dialogues in.

Posted by Cloudburst on Aug-23-2009 21:15:

I think my friend and I were the only ones laughing at the wilhelm scream in the movie.

Posted by Chimney on Aug-23-2009 21:22:

Saw it two days ago at the premiere. Really enjoyed it. It had the typical Tarantino dialogues that really give flavor to the movie, well-built action, well-balanced between brutality scenes and humouristic scenes.

What was a bit annoying was the ending. Quite unexpected.

I think Tarantino manages to slip one into each of his movies. For anyone who doesn't know what it is...

that's some funny shit.

Posted by WittyHandle on Aug-25-2009 16:48:

I was actually a little disappointed. Probably due to my own expectations though. I didn't think the dialogue was nearly as interesting as in his other movies. It was like he was trying to rely on the mood of the moment in many scenes, but I just found myself bored. The over-the-top 70's moments were great, and the theater scene at the end was amazing though.
