Planet Rock sampled Kraftwerk "trans-europe express".

Planet Rock is most definitely not dance music.. The Hip Hop movement then was about dancing and b-boying.. still doesn't make in dance music in the sense the way that you know it.

Planet rock is most definitely hip hop. Hip hop in those days didn't have a specific sound. it borrowed from elements of funk, disco, rock among other genres. What people consider urban music now, didn't even exist in 1982. Planet Rock spawned electro funk, miami bass, freestyle among other genres, not to mention pushing hip hop into the mainstream.

Planet Rock also samples from another Kraftwerk track,"Numbers".

Such an awesome tune

Ah, changing your argument now, eh? First it was "EDM", now it's specifically trance music. The thread was about electronic music in general, not trance specifically.

Anyway, you're still wrong.

Trance didn't even really exist before the mid-'90s so obviously it's impossible to find Ferry-style tracks from that era with booty lyrics or beats. But before old-school dance/party music splintered off into Euro and Trance sects, it incorporated a shitload of both hip hop elements and elements that would later be incorporated into trance:

Or how about one that sounds suspiciously like trance - pure 4/4 beat, offbeat bassline, standard classical chord progression, and yet somehow manages to be full of rap lyrics AND hints of disco:

And on the other side of the fence, more recent R&B/Hip-Hop with trance elements (actual mashup):

Lots of tracks back then even incorporated reggae elements... but I'll spare you those because they're even cheesier than the old school pre-euro dance.

As for funk, well, house WAS funk in the beginning, and there was very little differentiation between trance and house in the early '90s. I was going say "Rhythm is a Dancer", but I'm sure you'll find something wrong with that example, so how about something more recent:

Honestly, listen to just about ANY dance music from the 1990s, almost every track is clearly influenced by disco, funk, or hip hop. Especially hip hop - rap music was such a crazy fad in the '90s that it was incorporated into almost everything. The divergences of trance/euro from those genres is actually a new phenomenon - so if anything, what you're trying to do is more retro than progressive.

You can't win this, so don't even try.

Wow. You really must be extremely mentally deficient to miss the obvious sarcasm there. Which, in turn, renders you an even bigger joke.

All hail the retarded cat rapist. The feline Boltok. The gerbil rumper. The kitten pumper...

Really. What the hell is wrong with you? (other than clearly being a special education failure)

So, what's next? Are you going to claim to have invented the internet? (Al Gore beat you to that one by the way) Perhaps you will claim to have been the pioneer of the blackberry. Oh hey, I know, why don't you try to lay claim to being the first person to come up with the idea of cheese. I'm sure everyone will believe that!

you see? its comments like these that you know will spark contreversy b/c you KNOW there are a lot of ppl on here that would disagree with your assumptions, especially since nobody knows you personally.

I would go as far to say that your posts always seem to railway conversations revolving around your theories and opinions, while EVERYONE else tries to disprove them. The fact that you have no profile pic, no known attendance to either EDM or TA social events, and put an abundent amount of effert into keeping your real identity anonymous, can be very intimidating and quite annoying. That coupled with the fact that there a number of threads in the past few weeks that you have completely taken over with your comments.

I'm trying to be as nice as I possibly can be because truthfully your posts have an uncanny ability to frustrate me, and I'm assuming a number of other people. But I don't want to come off as an asshole at the same time. But dude seriously, maybe your social skills are just poor, maybe you get a kick from all this, I don't know. But if you really want ppl to stop bashing you and making fun of you, try being involved in a conversation without trying to direct it.

***** please be sure to fuck off as promptly, quietly, and permanently as is humanly possible with the boundaries of physics.

You are truly a waste of skin, food, water, oxygen, and space in terms of the collective frame of reference of nearly all on this forum. I sincerely hope that you either stop posting or that some sort of horrible affliction befalls your ability to operate any form of interface with this board. Just in case you haven't clued in yet (which would be ridiculously unlikely that you actually have), you are a joke here, nearly no one (I would say nobody but I haven't checked with everyone yet) wants to hear any of the crap you have to say, the pathetic attempts you call music, or interact with anything else that originates any any point in any way with you.

As for your pet raping, I have contacted the appropriate authorities. They assured me that they will attempt to track you down.

You really do sicken me to my very core.

except for 1 style of music called Trance it went on its own path & did something different , the stuff you have posted is like dance/techno/euro from the late 80s early 90s (2 unlimited culture beat) but its not Trance. Trance has its own history that I believe starts with Kraftwerk

Yes, you're right, it sounds nothing like your stuff. These people were actually good at it. Retard.

That's what it all comes down to, in the end. "Oh, your example doesn't count, because it doesn't sound exactly the same as my piece of shit!" There's a reason for that dude, think about it.

This is trance's history. Just because your whole argument depends on the premise that trance has some ancient and unique history completely independent of any other electronic or dance music doesn't make it any less of a false premise. Yes, those tracks are absolutely dance/euro from the early '90s - that's the point, this was the scene 15-20 years ago. What planet are you from?

Kraftwerk had nothing to do with trance. Old-school techno and electro were the most closely-related to their pioneering work (and Kraftwerk weren't even the first).

Trance evolved out of all of that cheesy dance music in the '90s. The trance producers said hey, let's take the energy and the synth work and the rhythms from this cheese and make something more minimal and tribal sounding, kinda like that techno stuff we've been hearing for the past several years. That was how it started. Modern trance is virtually identical to that old cheese in rhythm, form, and harmony, but over a period of 15 years it became a little more subdued, refined, formulaic, and the old cheese got replaced with new cheese (superstrings and supersaws and white noise). Anybody who isn't a complete moron can clearly hear the similarities.

Basically every defense you've posted in here amounts to either (a) that's not urban or (b) that's not trance. My answer to (a) is, you yourself define "urban" as "black", and I think the videos speak for themselves. And as for (b), they are only not trance if you limit your definition of "trance" to music that was produced in the past decade - which really isn't a long enough period for you to consider yourself a "pioneer" as opposed to just "living in the past."

P.S.

if you think thats good we have differnet taste in music for sure, the songs you posted are all Dj Sammie status imo they dont sound anything like Trance at all the only thing remotely Trance they have is a electronic synth

I think your wrong dude if you listen to there music you will notice the beginnings of electronic Trance music (melody repetiton minimal vocals complex simplicity )

Trance was the counter culture to the cheesy dance music imo
Dance music stole/inc elements of the original early Trance music the originators took it back & made it something different something dance/euro could not do. Modern Trance(as in the Trance recently being made now) is like cheesy dance/euro thats why its losing popularity its not the real "Trance" music anymore

I define myself as ***** someone who lives in Canada & loves music from all over the world all genres, the songs you posted are not Trance at all imo they are like cheesy euro or cheesy techno songs American style thats all. Trance has its own elements heres 2 songs that I feel are early Trance songs

Bahahaha. When have you successfully discredited anything I've said?

Jebus, you truely are worth less than a dead cockroach. You poor pathetic fool. Your inability to forumlate even the most basic response that indicates any form of rudimentary human comprehension is astounding. It is clear that your abilities of carrying on a basic conversation, let alone arriving at a reasoned and calculated retort in an actual logical argument, is tantamount to to watching a tick attempt to successfully mount the highest peak in the Himalayas.

But to put it in a language more familar to you, a dog attempting to hump the wheel of a moving bus has a better chance of succeeding than you do at proving me, or even a 3 year old with Downs Syndrome, wrong.

Felcher.
