Is it really that difficult? If you dont like Trance or whats goin on in Trance music, simple solution is stop listening to it and find music that fits your tastes. There is plenty of music out there to enjoy isnt there? Stop complaining about music like scandelous women that gossip all day, it is rather pathetic. Do something productive, make your own trance or something, if you dont like trance...instead of showering this forum with useless and worthless ranting, go make some of your own innovative trance, or would that actually require a skill and craft that is far advanced than ranting requires on a forum about music. When you got nothing better to do with your life, rant on a forum about music.

Since this is a Producer forum, those complaining about Trance, can we hear your Trance? Set some examples for the Trance scene to follow...or fuck off with your useless and out of touch with reality complaints.

And shit, what sort of music appreciation culture do you complainers follow? There is more wrong with the culture you follow and try to impose throughout TA, not just here, than Trance music. Constant complaining about music? Really? I mean I can sit here and point out problems in the way some of you view music, would you do anything to change? And you act like music owes you something. Music does'nt owe you shit, be lucky that you can hear and have the opportunity to listen to what you want. I was a big hip hop fan growing up, from 87-2000, it went to shit in 2000, you wont find me on a hip hop forum complaining my life away because hip hop is now shit. I just kept finding new music instead. The music culture that about 20-30 toxic people on TA follow is rather pointless, and toxic to the rest of us who still enjoy music. So dont bother saving the Trance genre, it really does not need your help, save us from the pointless toxic culture you follow and impose throughout TA.

I agree with Kismet, why do u guys that complain, even come to this forum? Its TRANCEADDICT.com, not TRANCEBASHER.com, it really bothers me, cause u know, I love this forum, and I come here alot to try and get inspiration and idea's to wanna get in the studio and make something, then I gotta come and read all the basher's of trance and it has been disgusting me lately. Why can't anyone talk about the positives or if u don't see any positive's, start making some and share with us. Start a new form of trance, why not come together and come up with new idea's if you don't like the same old idea's. And ps- trance is far from dead, its not all great, but, most shows I listen to still put me in a trance, which is of course the reason why I LOVE TRANCE. Loved it for 10+ years and never stopped. If u think it is dead and u wanna complain on this forum, then show what u are doing to change it

The rave scene - or just the electronic music scene - has always been about pushing the envelope, about making "music" that sounds weird and different and totally kicks ass after you've ingested several different controlled substances. You can't possibly claim that people who dislike the present-day formulaic epic trance genre are living in the past when trance was a different beast; these people are the antithesis of the old fogies frozen in time, they're the ones who don't want their beats to sound like everything else they've ever heard.

If anything, it's the post-1999 trance cracker crowd that's stuck in a time warp. One fad, one moment in time, its subjects stuck in an ecstasy-induced freeze-frame of nostalgic bliss. Epic trance was dead not more than a few years after it was born; ASOT and the like just capitalized on the restless zombies.

Fucking exactly. This is why I love the people like Rafael Frost who do extremely experimental type stuff. It gives you that feeling of not having a fucking clue what is coming next. Trance is formulaic in general but todays generation of producers make it even worse. I just wish people would take more time on their projects. I have listened to all of my tracks thousands of times and they still move me. I think if most of the producers pushing junk out held onto their work longer they'd realize it won't continue to move them.

TBH you're doing the same thing. You're talking the talk but have no evidence to back up walking the plank so to speak.

Legitimate in your delerious delusional mind, yes very true. At least I blamed it on drugs, but I see that its your delusional mind that is the culprit.

Yeh sorry but Mr Kismet is 100% in the right.

I'm a member at a bodybuilding forum and have been for 5 years and noone starts shit with me there like they do here. In fact I am worshipped there lol

There are some sour ass apples in here the same ones who rape many perfectly fine threads with angry useless narcissitic rants. No one cares about all the negativity you see in whatever music you listen to. That only means you are a negative person and noone gives a shit.

If mods ever governed this place people would treat each other better cause those sour apples would be stepped on and squashed.
Now lets see, someone who would like to argue with me because they need to point out that Im being negative at negativity so that makes us both negative and the entire universe negative please eat it, chew it, swallow it, and shut the fuck up.

People gotta compain still when everyone knows he is right.

I think this is mostly a product of the DJ revolution. 10 years ago, one morning everyone and their mother woke up and decided that they were DJs. 5 years later, they all decided they were also producers.

Most of them aren't musicians in the artistic sense. They are musicians in the sense that they produce garbage using whatever sample packs, loops, etc.. they can, and spend the entire time thinking "YEAH PEOPLE WIL DANCE TO THIS I WIL GET LAID AND MAEK MONEYS".

Now they're so fucked up that they feel the need to make new genre names on a daily basis.

"Leftfield"? WTF?

Oh, and apparently the word electro can be thrown into any other genre name to make it sound cooler now. Funny how none of it actually sounds anything like electro, though.

And you wonder why you get clowned and trolled all day long. The above is sig fodder for whoever is interested LOL

I'm sure Kismet is shuttering by the fact it was YOU that just supported his statements. Go torrent fl studio you "genious"! LOL!

I definitely bruised some egos here. It reminds me of the time I told this guy the comic book character Deadpool was stupid and he nearly cried. That guy was 25.

How old is everyone here?

Honestly, if my post was complete bullshit then nobody would have responded, but it resonated deep within you guys and the truth is coming to light.

Kismet makes a very good point in this thread.

"Your argument is invalid because I like the trashy epic trance more than I like anything you have produced."

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Sep-20-2009 14:37:

As far as I know Kismet is not a big fan of epic trance either. His productions that I have heard are house / deep house. He has a release out on Beatport:

Some people are always backward looking. In 50 million years time, there ill be producers saying dance music was better when they were younger.

Recognising this eternal status quo opens your mind.

In AD 30 a high ranking Bishop said Christmas had gone down hill nad become a gluttonous materilaist festival.
In other words a proportion of people always think yesterday was better than today.

IMO, and I'm 42, todays trance is way better than even stuff 4 years ago.

people complaining about people like earlier trance because of nostalgia i find abit weird. what is music if not a catalyst for bringing up good memories and a tool for making what you do exactly now more memorable? lets say music today are alot better, but what does it matter if you dont listen to it with good friends and having i good time? i think this is what desides what is good music for you personaly. i even like pop lately, not beacuse its good music but its what i often listen to on parties lately. this is how i some years ago come to suddenly love punk-music too. Or Iron Maiden... I used to hate metal but suddenly those long epic guitar solos where the coolest thing... beacuse i was drunk with good friends having an awesome time. so yeah with this definition trance is mostly dead to me as I rarely listen to it other than at home, doing my therapy. But sometimes (like last week) a couple of friends of mine hooked up some 1210s and a mixer and dug out the old vinyl classics, trance was very alive that saturday and i got wasted as in the old times lol. music is all about nostalgia, some people complaining about living in the past etc is probably people who either did not experience anything in the past or have better experience with something else than trance right now. it has nothing to do about good music or bad music beacuse this is avaliable at all times.

I put last years above&beyond compilation on yesterday whilst cleaning a room - fuck it was a really great experince and the cleaning I didnt want to end - wierd shit I know, but try it. Takes me 1.5 - 2 hours to clean a room, as Im a bit obsessive (even clean light bulbs, plant leaves, walls, wires) - that same attention to detail that took me into production
