Trance is terrific. I particularly love loads of arpeggios, chick vocals, and 2 minute breakdowns in the middle of the track. It does wonders for my buzz. I just wish that SoCal promoters would stop hatin' on it.

No I agree its great promoters in the states can afford them - but personally speaking I hate how the edm scene is here when it comes to trance. I would love for it to be as mainstream as it is in europe so a massive like the one I posted a flyer of would be a huge sell out event here - but that is not the case. I would pay far more to see that event than an armin vs markus, ferry vs tiesto, etc. And its the same for all fans of edm here really for massive events. Most are booked from the top in djmag - whereas in other countries, where the music is more popular, you have more variety. Oh well, need to save for going abroad for those shows.

stop listening to funky house then, i dislike it too but there are so many sub genres of house that even commercial trance djs like armin and schulz play... just like trance. i dont really like epic or commercial stuff anymore but prog psy trance and neotrance i cannot get enough of it!

i disgree on you about one or two rooms. the more the merrier. if im not feeling trance esp those in the top of the djmag poll, it'll be nice to head to another room and listen to dubstep, dnb, techno, house or even psychedelic spacey glitchy yet uplifting experimental sounds of tobar. its why I appreciate 1015 on saturdays. taj listens to what people want and has brought in new talent like hac le, robbie rivera and ricardo tobar! haha tobar and i were making fun of rivera this morning

edit: really like that ruby has another real room but other than satellite hosting it, it hasnt appealed to me. i hope spundae can bring some good house and techno acts when they have the top djmag djs in the main room or whenever.

i never said i hate trance, i never said i don't like trance. i do think 99% of the trance today (and the last several years) is fucking garbage. at one point in time trance was cutting edge music, but that time came and went and never came back. to some extent that can be attributed to the fact that everyone who discovers trance falls in love with their era of discovery because of its overall newness, but to a greater extent trance today is simply way too simplistic and formulaic compared to the releases of 1999-2005.

noob is not a length of time, it's a state of mind, and you'll have it as long as you attach any meaning to djmag's rankings. "armin is number one for a reason" that is the dumb thing i've read on this forum all month.
