Not necessarily - many people like to use other patch banks for inspiring new sounds, or as starting points for other sounds, etc.

PS. ibiza sun is quite nice in the melodical stakes, but imagine if ferry corsten had done this track back in 99 with equipment costing 1/3rd of what you have spent. the production would probably be less tight, but it would have had more emotion because of his musical ability being so much more artistic than yours.

im guessing you are one of these pen pusher types who desperately tries to be a deep thinker and a musician. problems is, you will never be one and you know it. this must be why my topic offends you so much. your avatar makes you look like a pro(with the textbook haircut to match the pro headphones), and your regular up to date purchasing of the beatport top ten would suggest to an unwitting club goer that you are a big shot, but really the main reason you do it is to try and make yourself look more attractive to the opposite sex. and when people like me are still working as an artist and musician in 20 yrs, people like you will look back and think "what did i see in it all?.. well at least i can appear like i did cool stuff to my kids"

your so far off base its nuts...your topic doesn't offend me. The fact that you whine and bitch about other people who find a way to create the studio they want but then justify that you are "artistic" therefore can't do anything producitve to generate an income for your self is just plain stupid. By that same rational all people who have a job doing something to pay their bills are not artitstic which is a sweeping generaliztion. Only complete douche bags make these statements.

Plenty of artistic people find a way to use their talents to make money. you can choose to live in your fantasy world as long as you wish but ultimately that will not get you the gear your bitching about. I know the truth hurts so instead of really thinking about this your going to lash out at me and every one else on here

i was expecting another sean tyas/discover artist wannabe.

but!

finally someone here who uses what they got to good effect on music and doesn't sound like they are trying to copy anyone else. that green tune is kind of like psy-trance on steroids which i bet thats why chris lawrence liked it. I have to say the leftfield track sounds better and has more of a dance appeal to me. its got a better arrangement and mixing quality to my ears. i take it you spent some money on software synths? or please make my day and tell me you are just using fruityloops with the stock synths that came with the program?

at nightshift: what sort of dynamic range are you getting on your system? over 115db over the full audio spectrum? looks like the nuts.

Cardboard box?? WITH a lid?? Luxury. Al I had when I was young was a hole in the ground,
covered with rusty metal plates - just HOPING someone would toss a rat down
once in a while.

Seriously, though.. This is abous as annoying as reading the comments on youtube:
"DUDE wtf?? Why buy a new KTM when you cant drive for shit???"
Or even some guy I knew a couple of years back: "Why the hell did you buy such a nice midi keyboard, when you cant even play??"
Just get over yourself, and start worrying more about your own issues, rather than trying to
shove a brick up our asses, for having "expensive" gear. I certainly dont own what I do because
I think it will get me laid more, its more likely the opposite here Im affraid.
Geeks dont score well with the chicks, no matter what type of geek you are - And I certainly am a geek, i many ways :P

you is totally wrong there. im not upset that i dont have the equipment. i can make do with what i have at the moment. all i know is that it appears to me the new thing is to make a home studio without really knowing what you want to do with it.

i guess im the same person who questions why so many middle aged people have to go and get boring midpriced new cars on credit. its materialistic not artistic.

would buying an affordable car be "artistic" ?
