SF is allowable to be booked along with a Coachella date as I noted earlier (as is Vegas).... so the Muse date you noted is not an exception - it would not have been restricted in the first place.

the 2008 S&D tour did not have a LA nor SD date.... just Coachella

He's not talking about 2008. There has only ever been one Delta Heavy tour, and it was in 2002. The 2008 tour was the same general concept, but not the same name (nor anywhere near the same level of awesome).

S&D played Coachella in April and also did Vegas a week later i believe (we went to that at C2K) before returning to LA in late May 2002.

i'd be willing to bet that in 2002 Coachella did not place the same restrictions on local gigs that are in place now (just a guess on my part - i have no knowledge to this). I do have first hand knowledge as to the restrictions in place now due to the inability to book one of the djs playing the 2010 show on Sat back when he played in 2007 (or 2008 - i forget exactly)...

for example, C3 (that throws the Lollapalooza show) still includes radius clauses in all its contracts with bands that play Lollapalooza, restricting them from playing local venues 90 days before or after the festival. The restrictions are commonplace in all festival contracts nationwide , and C3 says they can't risk doing business without them.

and i'll say for about the 100th time now, national tours booked way in advance of Coachella bookings seem to be exempt from the LA date restrictions.

It would be awesome if Chemical Brothers or Crystal Method were added... Looking back at previous lineups one or the other was there almost every year.

Calm down, dude. I wasn't saying that such restrictions don't exist, as I'm completely well aware of them and am on the same page as you. I just wanted to make sure that you weren't confusing the two S&D tours.

lol... if you read the thread it seems like people keep on finding an exception to the booking exclusion rule and then extrapolating that info to say there is no exlcusion rule.... just trying to make it clear....

If you can go to Coachella, go.

If you can go to WMC, go.

If you can go to both, enjoy

You can actually get buy at Coachella on the cheap if you're being savvy. WMC's plane tickets cost for us can be rough.
