either way, that's kinda what I meant. It's an "event" with big DJs. Nobody goes to see resident trance DJs (does that even exist?) at a "non-event".

Toronto gets LOADS of great trance DJs, but lets say you compare it to a place like Footwork, which I love. It's never going to be trance (nor should IT be), but it would be nice if there were the trance equivalents. All the FW residents are f'in awesome and there is enough talent trance-wise in the area to be able to replicate the same thing if only that structure was in place for it.

Purple Room (Waterloo) used to be awesome every two weeks when it was Dennis or Tygon or Aaron Joseph or Yohan or anyone from paradigm really. Now....nothing. And believe me, when it was a trance night it would be pumping like crazy from 11-2 and I've been here 4 years. Only in the last 1.5 has it taken a turn for the worse. Thank god for Barry, but that's only once in awhile (and anyway, I don't think he's into trance now...still amazing obviously).

I think someone made a point about there not being enough great trance production and that's a very valid point, given everyone knows pretty much every song on this board, but then again that's not necessarily a detriment and half of trance is being involved in the tracks (IMO). A good set is very much doable despite not being unrecognizable track-wsie (and then again there are lots of people who know every tech-house song).

arghhh @ me not going to Vola...it's gonna so good. I'm sure GM will alleviate my frustration though (sorry, OT).

here is a track that needs to seriously redo the rounds!

Full vocal grooves are back and this needs to be resurrected!

CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!

A lot of people have been playing this tune since last year. So, it's definitely making a comeback.

2009 was a pretty good year for trance productions and trance music in general.

Torontos scene has been way better in the past. And although its not the best in the world at them moment, its not the worst either.

We are definitely far away from the likes of places that hold massive festivals and a lot of stuff in toronto isnt regenerating like it should be. But i hold that to be more artificial than anything. Get an administration in office that is more lenient and watch the scene explode. I think its bubbling under the surface to be honest. Round 2 is coming once we figure out how to elect a proper government and wade through all the red tape!

I'm sure it's more to do with the parties I go to, but pretty much all of the ones I've been to in the past year have had amazing electric vibes. Like the sensation that things are on the verge of...something. If that makes sense.

Or maybe it's just cause I don't actually get out much anymore, lulz.

RAVE!
