any of the sushi places will help--she can get veggie sushis, etc
And on Alton GO GO Fresh cafe has TONs of options for her.
Really it shouldn't be an issue..everything is fresh and theres a billion salads in SoBe

How do they not confiscate them when they xray your bag?! That's crazy lol. You can't take a 4oz bottle of shampoo, but go ahead, take a liter of vodka!

I'm coming from El Paso and the only time I tried that, they confiscated the ONE bottle of tequila I was taking to my friends in Pittsburgh

You're allowed to check-in alcohol. I've done it several times. This is for domestic flights within the US.

Think you're thinking of carry-on luggage.

Really? Well, when I took one when I got to my destination it was gone and I had an inspection ticket inside :/. So they just ripped off my bottle?! What crap...

Well in that case then, I'll be taking plenty of tequila with me then . Its super cheap across the border

TSA agent got some free booze! I usually just carry one bottle, pack it well, and it's fine.

Well I have plenty of bubble wrap to protect them. I was thinking of two for the week. SHOULD be enough. Plus itll allow for me to have room on the way back for whatever junk i buy while over there haha.

Are there any liquor stores in Miami Beach that have large Costco size alcohol with decent/cheap prices?

your best bet is probably the walgreens liquor store.

Posted by sucanushie on Mar-18-2010 23:32:

There is a good liquor store on collins and 24th. Right next to the Gansevoort.

Seemed to have reasonable prices last year.

Does anyone know of any decent bars that serve drinks at normal (i.e. not extortionate) prices? Somewhere that serves a pint of beer for around $3-5 would be nice if its possible.

SoBe prices are not expensive, at least compared to Los Angeles. Figure $5-7 for an import pint, maybe a dollar or two cheaper for domestic crap.

Posted by MdTechno on Mar-19-2010 20:36:

something like this maybe?

http://www.playwrightirishpub.com/

on google maps they show a few when I search pub, or something like bar grill

I am sure if u just walk around u will find smaller type bars.

Dewey's Tavern852 Alton Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139-5506

Finnegan's Too942 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139-2602

I'd dread to think how much money it would take me to get pissed in LA then!

That's why I carry a flask whenever I go out here and I'll probably do the same in Miami. I can buy a decent 750mL bottle of vodka for ~$20, which is about 4 full flasks.

didn't read the thread, but I live in Orlando, and I heard about the WHOPPER BAR opening up on SoBe within the past few months. Basically a Whopper combo with, like, a 20oz beer instead of a soda for a 'norma' BK price. THE FUCK IS THERE TO LOSE? It's also a 24hr joint.

Posted by ravracer16 on Mar-20-2010 12:00:

OK, just saw their website.

http://www.bk.com/en/us/campaigns/whopper-bar.html

I have to check this out, most likely when I'm headed back to the hotel in the morning.

Some of you were talking about La Sandwicherie.

This site is offering a coupon and for $8, you get a sandwich (up to an $8.35 value) and a bottle of house vinaigrette (a $9 value). This Groupon is not valid toward La Sandwicherie's combination sandwiches or hot plates.

Check out Today's Deal here: http://www.groupon.com/r/uu763293
