Ya, N. Broadway isn't the best of streets. My friend was constantly freaking out, but we made it home in one piece.

Allright i just got back to Nashville from Chicago. First off, DevanteS, sorry i didnt talk to u for longer dude. When we met PVD was about to come on and after the show i was seriously on the verge of passing out from overheating, i had to get outside. But it was nice meeting you and rubyriva and her sister. Thanx for posting the pix, love PVD in the background of our pic.
quote:
CKYTEP, Dude, I thought you were a TA, but I didn't want to say anything! I got home and saw your pic and I realized it was you! I was standing right next to you for most of the Johnny Chaos set! I was the guy in the blue polo shirt and khakis. When Devantes posts the pic, you'll see.

I remember seeing you at the party Retrokat. I wish I would've known you were a TA. Either way it was nice sharing the vibe with u and the rest of people there.
quote:
Ckytep...dood! you are a pvd worshipper! never seen someone just stare for 3 hours! hehe

LOL, yea i was like , like looking at god, literally.

OK now, i just have to say even tho everyone already heard this, whoever rescheduled the show to riviera needs to be kicked in the nuts. No air conditionor, NOT EVEN A FAN! Special fuck you goes out to the security guy who looked like dick in a hat, who was walking around with a bag of ice and giving it only to females and when guys were asking to borrow it he basically told the to fuck off.
PVD mindblowing!!! Best show i have ever seen. Warm up DJ's spun beautiful progressive. I especially enjoyed 1st and 3rd DJ.

PVD added his signature on my shirt along with Oakie, D:Fuze and Hybrid that were already on it

If anyone knows where the pictures will be posted from the camera guys on stage, please let me know

Also, was this set recorded by anyone by any chance? And if so.. mp3?

Hello Everyone!!!!

I got home at 1:30am, nice little 11+ hour drive back to ny!! It's all good, over 22 hours of PvD this weekend, and an AMAZING show!!

hmmm....i met one ta for sure, ckytep, and then I went up to someone wearing a VANDIT shirt, and told him I had one too, and asked if he was a ta, and i think he said yes. ummmm....Chris got my sister and I a little drunk prior to going and the only thing i could say for a while was: Chris!! I'm so f'ed up!!!

OMG, from the moment PvD hit the decks, he OWNED me!!! I loved everything he played!! Soooo many new tracks mixed in with a few classics. When he played Dreamland, I was sooo surprised!!! I heard the base line coming in and couldn't believe it and then told my sister what was coming...and then....ahhhh....

It was VERY VERY HOT there, and Chris, my sister, and I all took a little break from the heat. I NEVER DO THIS...but I was at the point where I thouht I might pass out or something

But what a GREAT night!!! I'd have to say that I am a very happer camper and have had a smile on my face since last night. What a very very nice birthday present, THANK YOU PAUL!!!

fyi: he'll be in NYC at the Roxy November 1

Im so sad. Last week I found out from my boss I had to work and that I wouldn't be able to make pvd. I am so pissed At least it sounds like all you TA's had a great time. Does anyone know if someone recorded the set? Probably not? Oh well, we gotta keep this mid-west forum alive to show swaper what we're all about.

Posted by tranzformer on Jul-29-2002 08:06:

so how come it got moved from the aragon? I only wish that AVB would come to chicago. I think he would f'in incredible.

and a BIG thanks to Chris for helping me make this past weekend happen!!! Chris allowed my sister and I to take over his apartment and was the perfect host, friend, and PvD party buddy!! On Saturday we toured Chicago, and tried some bubble tea, managed to get to the club as planned without any disasters (i tend to have issues getting to PvD gigs as planned), and then we all went to the beach after the show And he had to work at 9am that morning...what a trooper!!!

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!

Just got back to Omaha from one of the most amazing weekend's in Chicago... my first to be exact!

Awesome PVD show!!! This was my first big-name show ever, and I was not dissapointed. To mimic everyone else, it was unbelievably hot in there!!! I totally wanted to run around naked, lol!! It was nice to see some chica's in their bras! I did see you CKYTEP, up front with the blue hair!! I was just a few rows back from ya most of the night.. amazing. I was there with a bunch of Russian dudes, remember the text message "Russians scream"? That was us... Ahh, I'm so glad I went it was breathtaking. Someone told me the Aragon was a larger venue, maybe it would have been cooler?

Posted by cypress on Jul-29-2002 16:46:

hey Roany Riva ... that was me wearing the VANDIT shirt. i'm glad you recognized it otherwise i would have gone the whole night w/o meeting a fellow TA. what a great night. hot as hell, but i just got used to it after a while. at the end of the night my hands were all wrinkled like i just got out of a three hour bath ;-) hearing For An Angel was incredible. last time PvD was in chicago he didn't play it but played it the next night in Boston ... more than made up for it tonight ...

For an Angel > Another Way > Dreamland

i thought it was great how Paul just stood there at the end waiting for them to say he could play at least one more. when they kept saying we had to go he threw uphis hands, shrugged, smiled and started signing autographs ... what a great night.

PvD Chicago Style

I made it to the show about 11 o clock. Paul was already up on the decks. The crowd was great, it was fairly packed but I made my way up towards the front without much of a problem. The first thing you noticed when you got up there, obviously the heat. My shirt came off within 10 minutes. I enjoyed his set thoroughly, but the heat was a little much for me and the booze was kind of expensive. The For An Angel, Another Way, Dreamland combo did own me also.

Wish I could have met some TA's myself, but I was so sweaty you probably wouldn't have wanted to come anywhere near me.

Y'all had to notice the guy filming the whole show. He must have got me on there quite a bit when he was panning through the crowd. I wonder if this will be available somehow?

Any time I see someone with a VANDIT or PvD shirt that I don't know, I always make it a point to say hi and find out who they are! sorry we couldn't have chatted more...next time, next time...

OMG YES!!!! I thought my hands were going to be permanently pruned!!! LoL...it was crazy hot there

yes, I had a green sheet of paper that I requested a few tracks on, but I got sooo sweaty that it bled all over and turned my skin green. I took it out when we got to the beach to let it dry, BUT THE WIND BLEW IT INTO LAKE MICHIGAN!!!!!!!!

GREAT WEEKEND, still smiling....and to top it off, I get home and there is an email from Motorola informing me that I am being considered for a position!!!!!! aaaaaahhhhhhhh......and it happens to be in libertyville, il!!!

Darn litterbug!

Motorola, well, good luck on that! Let's just hope you're not one of their next wave of layoffs though if you do get hired!

Haha i remember the sign, all the russians in the house scream. And then i heard bunch of people in the back shouting. I was like hell yea, russians are here.
Aragon is a bit smaller venue but yea it was ventilated

Posted by phyrest0rm on Jul-29-2002 19:22:

OMG... I'm still hyped about this show...

Sorry I didn't meet any TA's when I was down this time. Had so many other people w/ my group that it was kind of hard to meet people. Anyway, there's always next time.

Supposedly there were sound difficulties w/ the theatre, but I think it's because they wanted a larger venue due to the demand for tickets.

AvB in Chicago would be amazing.... right now I'm trying to get Airwave in Chicago. Just got done talking with him. Now I have to talk to promoters.

Oh, and fox, if Airwave comes, you had sure as hell fly up here.

On a side note... I checked out that Purefuture.com forum.... omg, what crap. No one there knows anything about what they're talking about. I feel stupider for actually reading through some of the threads.

Swamper, please give us a Midwest forum so we don't have to deal w/ that crap!!!!!!

the Riviera is SMALLER than the Aragon (aragon=3000, riviera=1300) so they did not move it because of greater demand for tickets. the official reason was "for technical limitations" but i think it was because it was becoming clear that the aragon would be more than half empty if they had it there. the sound is awful at the aragon anyway.
