Hmm.. i inherited a wine red -96 VW Golf III 1.8 from my grandpa a few weeks ago and my plans are to get some nice wheels and rims and a nice audio system for it for next summer, but i'll let it be untouched for the winter. I'll survive because i've managed so far without a car for about 3 years now (I had a -88 Golf II GTI for 2.5 years when i got my license back in -96, but i sold it after that because i didn't actually need it anymore..). Now i have been using only public transportation; it's much cheeper and easier for me, but now i will return to driving again.

I've got two cars...

The daily driver '91 black Nissan Pickup (yes that's the model name :P).. goes 0-60 in about a half hour but gets pretty good mileage. Has about 160k miles.

And the fun car.. '91 red Toyota MR-2.. better gas mileage, better handling, better everything else but it's my baby so it's only got 65k miles (for an 11 year old car that's good ).

Posted by ABTsportsline on Oct-09-2002 22:17:

man... there's a lot of VW players out there... right on...

here's mine:

only now i have powdercoated black 5-star twists on it...

don't have many engine mods, b/c the 2.8 VR6 does just fine... setting in at 200 hp is all i really need - not big into those crazy 400 hp turbo cars.

But i'm chillin' with the climate control, pinch-protection windows, self-dimming rear view and a bunch of other unnecessary tricks, like rain-sensing windshield wipers, REAL HID's (not bulbs).... and i paid for it me'self.

cheers

Heres mine. A BMW 330ci.

Posted by X4216354 on Oct-09-2002 22:44:

Audi S3 quattro 06/2002 225 BHP/280 Nm torque from 2800-5900 6-Speed with extra-color "mora-metallic" from BMW and grey Alcantara-full-electronic Recaro Sport Seats.

Engine is: 1,8 Turbo (3K Warner 04 Turbocharger) and it can be chipped up to 380 BHP (take a look at MTM Homepage )

0-100: 6,6 Sec.

More photos at www.audi-speed.de (still under construction)...

My old car:

Audi S3 quattro 03/2000 272 BHP/420 Nm torque from 3000-6000 6-Speed with extra-color "dark-burgundy pearl effect" from VW from 100-200 km/h in the 6th gear in 15,0 sec!

Engine was: 1,8 Turbo (3K Warner 04 Turbocharger) with an MTM Chip to 265 BHP and some extra-modifications at the intercoolers, air-filter and pop-off valve....

0-100: 5,5 Sec. (BMW M3 = 5,4 )

Posted by X4216354 on Oct-09-2002 23:20:

this car is also nice:

new Golf R32 4-Motion (4WD)

http://www.volkswagen.de/golf/golf_r32.htm

3.2 V6 6-Speed Engine
320 Nm torque
250 km/h top-speed
0-100: 6,6

...but a chip-modificated Audi S3 is faster than this car, but the R32 sounds like hell! Very cool engine! The engine is "smallest" from the new VW Top-Model Phaeton. The Phaeton engines: 420 BHP W12 (12 Cyl), TDI V10 (350 BHP and 750 Nm torque (WTF!!!) ) and the "small" 3,2 V6 241 BHP

Just got 96' Ford Contour Sport, 2.4L, V6. I reached 100km/h in 7.5 seconds which is really amazing for that kind of car, I actually couldn't beleive it. Changed the head unit to Kenwood deck, now need to change the speakers, cause it got stock ones and they are pretty bad. I am looking forward to Golf GTI in about a year, that's one sweet car.

Posted by ABTsportsline on Oct-10-2002 01:18:

the VW R32? now you're singing my music.
