Is there actually a difference between all these brands? I mean in taste.

Every Vodka I have tried tastes the same, only good with Red Bull. If I just smell it pure, it makes me hurl..

If Like others have said, you would first have to have experience tasting different brands side by side and the palette to distinguish. Even if you can detect a difference its subjective which is "better". As soon as you mix it then its impossible to differentiate.

I've had shots of Goose (sipping it) and it did seem smooth to me. But then again its been always served ice cold which cuts the harsh taste and goes down smoother. Most objective people would agree that hard liquor by itself doesn't taste good. Once you're drunk and slamming shots all that goes out the window.

There is a strong psychological factor one can't deny that expensive name brands make you feel good. Then add the social factor of being at a party/bar, you don't want to appear cheap and you're inclined to try to impress Maybe you can't afford a house and a nice car but you can treat yourself to top shelf drink.

Reminds me of a Hell Kitchen episode. Chef Ramsey secretly microwaves frozen dinners and servers them to the contestants like he's prepared the meals from scratch. They all rave about taste and texture, etc. Goes to show our perceptions can easily be biased.

Well then, I wouldn't consider you to be the slightest bit of a vodka connoisseur if you have a retarded opinion like that. Next ur gonna tell me Prince Igor iz bezt, yez?

There is a vodka I saw in a liquor store here in Kentucky I am interested in trying. It is called Rain and it is distilled 7 times. I mostly want to try it because it is made only an hour from where I live.

I think we've established drinking is not for you, Banora.

Just because I took a shot of tequila and forgot where I was when I was in Miami doesn't mean I can't drink!

Hangar One. Even though it's American where good vodka is not commonly produced , it is definitely the best that I have tasted (and we have Bevmo in California so options are aplenty).

From a price/quality perspective , I would go with Ketel One.

I didn't say it was garbage, I said it's not elite. I'm sorry but if Belvedere is you're measuring stick, a connoisseur you are not.

Drink some Kauffman and get back to me

russky standart although i know is good there must be various versions with varying levels of quality because i guarantee the type i drank at the electric daisy carnival open bar was not quality alcohol.

also belvedere is a great vodka to have on hand at home, for the connoisseurs obviously there are better vodkas.

Russian Standard.

Not the strongest tasting vodka gong around (not necessarily a bad thing), but whats there is great and it woops the pants off every other brand you can buy here.

Totally agree with him
Though the premium one, regular one is OK

It had a unique flavor I couldn't place. It went down pretty damn smooth indeed.

I went to a bar last night and they didn't have stoli... only really expensive shit. So I got Ketel One.

Vodka is my drink of choice. I prefer Polish and Russian vodkas.

Posted by stan229 on Aug-04-2010 23:14:

I personally only do shots and I would never recommend anything other than Goose. Although I heard also good things about russian standard. It's a bit cheaper than Goose. There's also Stoli Elit which noone has mentioned which is really good but expensive.

How many types of Vodka have you tried?

It was mentioned, right after I mentioned the original Stolichnaya.

Types of Vodka only a few, brands though a lot more.

If this is about my age, save it.
