no I think It's because those people couldn't read the posting on the wall before entering the club.

No one would expect them to yell stuff out but a sign on the other "back end" of the line would not hurt so the people that just arrived could see. For example if i knew that umek was not there just as i arrived i would have probably gone home/somewhere else but the sign "umek is not here" only became anyhow visible after i spent 30 minutes waiting in line (as it was located right at the entrance) and at that time i felt it would be stupid to leave after wasting so much time, and i think the same was the case for many people.

I dont think it has to do with hype, pure financial reasons imo.

The sign I saw wasn't at the entrance...it was where you wait in line to get to those rope lines.

When I was in line one of the girls at the door told everyone in line that Umek wasn't coming and that he's been replaced by Carlo Lio and there would be a reduced cover.. I guess they didn't keep doing that for the whole night

What difference does it make that the signs were posted at the front of the line vs the back? Its a matter of 20 feet and EVERYONE in line was talking about Umek not being there. There is no way anyone waited in the line for an hour and didn't know about he cancellation until they reached the front lol come'on.

Footy....whens the new date??? LOL

Thumbs up

My gut told me I needed a break from the scene this past weekend. I bet I am the only person that is now ULTRA HAPPY that Umek canceled

I plan to make it out to his next gig @ Footwork.
