Well, for me it is being myself. I'm a huge fan of indie rock and stuff like that, and have been for years.

Obviously if it doesn't fit who you are, don't do it. Fashion should be an expression of your personal taste.

I was just joking about the jeans. Definitely don't wear skinny jeans. The hipster look is just.... to get the weirder girls you just have to be a bit weird yourself.

I would like to point out that when I say "skinny jeans", I'm talking about jeans like this:



NOT the kind that are skin-tight borderline spandex that show your junk.

Those aren't skinny jeans. They're slim-fit straight leg. Duh

They're Levi's 511 Skinny. That's the official name, anyway. The slim-straight are a little baggier.

The Levi's 510 super skinny are probably what you think of as "skinny". I would also not recommend those, so I guess we're on the same page.

I can see what you mean, but I think it's a cultural thing.

Americans have worn baggier clothes for some time now, so when normal European-sized jeans come into style, they're referred to as "skinny", when in reality they just fit properly.

Anyway, I always just say I wear "slim fit" pants since I think that's the most accurate description. Not straight leg, though, mine taper a bit.
