O
I'm only listening on little pc speakers so I can't judge the mix - although the hihats are quite sizzling here!

As I say great track, but I think you can squeeze a little more out of the drop - if you want to that is - I'm imagining more space there say without many / any hats, but a massive offset hitech wierd tom - sorry if you think I'm cheeky mate!! Do it your way though as I have crap taste and could be wrong.

Cheers, will be submitting to the label.

I'll see what I can do with the drop, but I really, really like how it feels like it blasts into "light speed" after the break. The hi hats and groove during the second drop section make it feel very fast, and the little stop before the actual drop itself makes people jump and fist pump. Haha.

This is what i'm working on, i need to mix this properly and there are still some things to add specially fxs vocal effects and that things, but you get the idea of this. Play it loud!

Dirtbox Divas - Funnybad (Rodri Santos pres. Innov8 Remix) [WIP] by Rodri Santos

Feedback highly appreciated

Rodri thanks for your work Man. Bare in mind my comments are only MY sensibility take on this so please feel free to ignore.

I like the darkness here and the sense of a journey, but I think you could do a few things perhaps on the groove. I was wondering for example if you really side chain that bass, with not just a 4/4 sidechain driver but maybe something quite swingy and make it really pump with the percs?

The break - it's close to the original - how would you feel if I said make it A LOT more your own, and make it more devasting so it blows up in yer face?

Drums could be more fierce and pumping PERHAPS?

As I say, just my random thoughts, I'll leave it with you.

Maybe some others can help out with feedback here?

Cheers for the effort so far.

will to oyurs tomorrow Rodri, mine will be finished this weekend I hope, trying to make the vibe a bit more deeper and a bit more ear candy, not any of the crazy pitchshifting stuff you guys have been doing though, as much as i like it, i'm going for a bit more minimal loungy type feel.

Posted by Raphie on Mar-15-2011 07:48:

I like it, a lot, nothing really to moan about.

Thank you for the advice i'll change the break , percussion should be more noticeable, only the hats are audible, i dropped an izotope ozone preset on the master for the preview because i was mixing on low dbs and now sounds a bit squashed and barely audible but i think i'll oadd some offbeat bongos, i wanted to make something different to what i usually do, more minimalistic and proggy but if you also think it needs more groove and pumping....

Minimalistic and proggy + groovy and pumping is definitely possible!!

Check out Tarantula by Pleasurekraft, or the Bass Kleph remix of Joan Reyes - Shakedown, they're both minimal tech house but they're incredibly groovy and have awesome, bouncing bass lines.

Whelp! I think it might just be done! Added some ear candy, amped up the low end and did some changes on the bass. I'm SUPER FREAKIN' HAPPY with how this came out

Also: I made you this. Use it if you want :P

Hmm.. Deadline? Any change to get midi files? From bass and lead. If my remix will get chosen, what do i get? Happy mind? Any other information that remixer should know?

Posted by Richard Butler on Mar-16-2011 10:53:

SEANDROID - Thx for your work, will submitt this to label for thier decisions. Good solid track mate.

PIZZAGUY - sorry mate no midi, I converted all to audio. As for your return, whatever is usual I guess. Last signing I had the label signed the remixers work individualy so I had no dealings.

Posted by Rodri Santos on Mar-16-2011 14:17:

i'll try to have mine finished this weekend, i'll be abroad from friday to sunday so by thursday night is my aim... a real pity that we have no midis i am not used at all to work with samples

Posted by pizzaguy on Mar-16-2011 16:42:

If you want people to make remix, upload midi files, or at least, take a screenshot how the notation goes or something..

As if it's hard to figure out? It's not like these are crazy progressive house chords.

Posted by Richard Butler on Mar-17-2011 11:21:

DEADLINE - could you guys try and finalise the remixes now, and give me the link you know to be working - soundcloud preferably so I can forward to the label. I should warn you the big label are messing us about a bit, and pee me off wanting alterations, so this may well go to a smaller label now, but hey ho.

Please no links to dumb advertising platforms, as AR people don't have time to mess about with them!

Ha - Eddie you naughy Boy you, like your style!
I perhaps shoulda supplied midi, but jeeze on some remixes you get one 3 second vocal loop and that's it.

Posted by Rodri Santos on Mar-17-2011 15:55:

i've just finished mine, i feel a bit rushed but i'm leaving this night although i'm finally happy with the result, the tune has been developed in a good way i think, now sounds interesting.

I send you a pm.

They made it much better. So easy to navigate through a song without zooming out, all the time.

Richard: Sorry but if the deadline is by tonight/tomorrow I'm shit-out-of-luck. I'm going to go ahead and finish the tune and get the finished product to you, but it's probably going to be at least another couple of days. I won't put anything up on sound-cloud without explicit permission - released or otherwise, but I am going to finish it.

Posted by -FSP- on Mar-25-2011 04:06:

Richard Butler: Tried remixing this song, but couldn't really get anything done on it. My mind can't add a new spin to it or make a sure club bannger any better, anyways, good stuff.

Posted by Richard Butler on Mar-25-2011 09:54:

FSP - Thanks very much for giving it a go, much appreciated. The remixes are in now and have gone to the label. No more required thanks guys.

Raphie did the mastering and I am very impressed with the final result - I've used a few masterers in my time and have to say his is the best.

Cheers
