You know what I predict.....
This...

exactly.
walmart style business...walmart style product.
btw bryce, i would be interested to know where you got your info on most touring acts losing money.
this is simply not true...for the big players it is the biggest revenue stream available.
i'm really starting to think you are just talking about what you think is going on, and not what i8s actually fact.
Dont listen to Glenn, he is just a hater!
the cheese prediction
is about as bang on as one can get. We do NOT need corporate players TRYING to bring cheesey EDM acts to this city.
Mainstream is one thing, but full out CORPORATE MAINSTREAM?
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Bump for Jon Jon...
You can kiss his ass here bud...
zyklon is absolutely right here. and lawrenceeq i hope so but i'm not exactly sure of my schedule because usually for july & august im in europe. hope you're doing well man!

Originally posted by Bryce Santiago I'm not sure what your referring to as dates of meetings. I never gave any dates for meetings. What I'm saying is that the venue was stalling and stalling for a date...but this is to be expected. Live Nation is the company doing the U2 Tour and they do multiple events in this city, including at the dome...they may have dibs without even paying up front. And no nothing was 'pushed out' by Deadmau5, it's just that the date can no longer be in November...the original intended date. Deadmau5 is not the promoter, he's a hired DJ/performer doing the event for the touring company Live Nation. The same people that own Live Nation own the mouse's booking agency/talent agency. It's possible that he's their experiment to enter into the dance music market. For many years corporate interests have scratched their heads trying to get into the dance scene, as they are desparate to make money. They are losing money BIG TIME in the rock scene. Rock touring is almost dead. Last year the company posted a big Net Loss and had to adjust much of their operations. It will be interesting to see if they make any progress in the dance music market.

Originally posted by Bryce Santiago It's possible they positioned the event exactly on the first weekend, knowing it would push us out, as November was the intended month, and there's no way we are positioning the event the weekend after let alone in the same month.

Originally posted by Zyklon_Jay technically they did "lose" that money, but it isn't really a loss. To get bigger you spend, check back 2 years from now. They really are making huge moves to secure top position. Their stock is actually at a very sweet spot right now (low...buy it

Bryce there's no hate on my end, that would be insane. I just think you don't know what you're talking about. Obviously I wish you the best in whatever you're trying to do. The music industry is crazy, fun and lucrative if you can work it. These last 10 years for me have been blood sweat & tears but it's the best job in the world & I wouldn't trade it in for anything!

Originally posted by Bryce Santiago I do value the input you guys are saying what you want and don't want. I'm writing it all down. One of the reasons for coming on a great forum like this is to speak directly to the scenesters. That and the fact that I'm a Trance collector for years. It's amazing seeing the next generation emerge. The flyer for the Axwell event outside of Toronto is well done. Zyklon, I'm not going to comment on Live Nation as it doesn't concern me anymore. You sound like an employee of theirs or something. I'm not sure why you are so concerned with what they are doing...I'm not. It appears that my comments have enraged you - I didn't mean to do this. >i would be interested to know where you got your info on most touring >acts losing money. I never said the touring acts lost money, I meant the corporation posted a Net Loss...and I can't remember when I read it, it may have been within the past 3 years. I don't care what the 'big players' make. I'm not concerned about Rock acts from the 80's. I don't know anything about Rock, except that I like The Smiths. I've logged your comments on the not wanting cheese.
