Im not fond of hip hop but I can appreciate his creativity in his lyrics, at least its not just '******, ho, roll a spliff smoke some weed'
His attiture and manner makes him a tit though
Correct me if I'm wrong - (which I probably am) - It just seems that a lot of people who ARE NOT American have a problem with Eminem. Maybe it has to do with the fact that Americans are much more laid back and less pissy about shit. Call it desensitization, call it tolerance - or maybe we just know something good when we see it. Eminmen is just that - GOOD. He is downright talented when it comes down to it. Who really cares what he chooses to rap about? The fact that he can rap about anything and get away with it is tight because EVERY DAMN CRITIC kisses his ass...Many young white suburban kids in America love him too because he doesn't front....not to mention the fact that he is insanely talented - and yes...white.
i think he is talented...and he flows nice...but he is to big...its not fun to listen to someone who is the biggest...makes you feel like your just one of those kids...ya know?
I think he's a pussy, he needs to stop bitching and get a life
Couldn't be bothered reading 7 pages
from this and other threads I seem to have picked up a common mistake, in the bag of shit that is without me, he says "nobody listen to techno" and not "nobody listens to techno", sorry if I've just taken the wind out of anyones sails there
and it's not like he's even taking the piss out of techno, he's taking the piss out of Moby, who the other week decided to speak a load of shit about Eminem on the Frank Skinner show here in the UK, unfortuneately for him Elton John was Frank Skinners next guest, and said nearly all of what Moby had said about him is bullshit.
Confession time. I've seen eminem live, friday 9th of february 2001, London Arena, and enjoyed most of it (apart from the so solid crew, they're wank). Anyone who says the guy is without talent is talking shite. They may not like the guy, or not like rap, but he did some freestyling with Proof before the show for people that got in early, and he showed he has amazing talent, the show was flawless, if a little theatrical
His latest album on the other hand, is dire. Nothing original on it all, relying on whats made him succesful, takign the piss out of his mum, kim etc..., and he's not moved on, maybe if Dre had had a bigger influence on the album it'd have been better....then he comes out with lose yourself, which reminds me of the good old dark days (mainly cos it gips the sample from his track Scary movie
)
anyway, stop bitching about him, it's what they want

He is a compleate and utter tosspot I HATE HIM I HATE HIM I HATE HIM

I respect all types of music and i have to say he has some good rhymes i watched 8 mile good movie, crappy ending but I personally like his music but not the way he acts.
He is very good at what he does - for what that's worth, anyway.
i totally agree with the first reply in this thread. Eminem just does whatever to get more money. political incorrectness is very popular among young people all over the world now
Why does he need to be so angry all the time??
So much agression, i just dont understand it.
Ah well i guess its just not for me.
very talented, rhyming-wise...
also very talented in pissing people off for gain.
hes love or hate with people.
personally i think its hilarious that people take him so seriously or get so worked up about it. eminem is from Detroit, so he CANT be serious about techno when he obviously knows peopled DO listen or listens(whatever) to it.
moby is just a turd, and thats the kind of person that is easy to pick on|

| Originally posted by davinox the sad thing is people judge him as an artist by the select songs they play on the radio, and as a person by the image created for him by MTV and the media. eminem is extremely talented, noone can doubt that. if you don't think he is a good MC, you are either know nothing about hip hop, or you don't like him because he's white. eminem got alot of popularity because he is white, but didn't get alot of respect because he is white. its a two sided issue. very few black people respect him. if you don't know how Eminem is a good MC is that he can actually freestyle long and complex flows that are funny and actually make sence. if you listen to most rappers they either say interesting things but cannot flow, or they have mad flow but what they are saying is dumb and doesn't make sence. Emimem is on another level from most rappers, just listen to the D12 album, or the parts of the Marshall Mathers LP with other people in it. He makes the other people sound rediculous and horrible, everything flows so well and naturally. btw: my favorite stuff from him is the Marshall Mathers LP, fuck the emeinem show. |
u guys...man
Eminem is a great rapper. he can freestyle soooo goood. I mean i hate his commercialism u gotta recognize his rhyming skills. You guys are bashing on him the same way ppl who listen to hip hop and rap on trance or electonic music. They would listen to a track and not even give a chance.
Hooo boy...this thread is still alive and kicking.

K i think Eminem is pretty poor as a rapper. Most i get out of him is a chuckle. I used to be into rap before i got into electronic music and there is much better more talented less obscene rappers out there. |

| I could freestyle as well as he raps it aint hard to rap when you drop the "F" word every 3 words. |
| quote: |
As for his lyrics being about his life most of that is shit, it's his show buiseness facade, he never murdered his babys momma or any of that shit. |
| quote: |
I think the most hilarious part of it all is he sits bitching about how he has so many fans and they love him for it. he says shit like no i wont sign your autograph call me an asshole im glad. yadda yadda. Is that how to appeal to americans, tell them to fuck off? |
| quote: |
Seems brittish people do that plenty why dont we buy stuff from them more often?? |
| quote: |
And his beats are shite compared to the underground rappers as well as his message, in Hip Hop underground is much better it still has the soul.... |
Eminem is a Fuckin Talent. He works hard to have what he has. Not only is he talented but hes in the "game" for the right reasons. Rap sucks without him, there isnt shit to listen to besides Eminem and Rakim, and some Nas. Some of you who dont know a damn thing about Rap should give a listen to Eminem's album "The Show", hit a spliff and listen to it and youll drop your trance anthems and wont go back for a while. You are so use to just listening to the beats of trance music you dont know the power of Rap. Listen to the lyrics to his songs and youll enjoy it. Being a big Tupac Shakur fan I havent seen any rappers do shit like Eminem is doing. So all you homos against rap or Eminem. Listen up to the Quality, cant wait till his next album.
I like his work, especially his last album. But of course "Nobody listens to techno" is a bad joke ![]()
I think the guy is the most creative and talented rapper to date. Just listen to his lyrics and in his songs and it's pretty amazing at what kind of stuff he can come up with.
About his attitude and all that stuff on contraversy, I do agree that it is a sad way to do business in the music industry. But, it lookls ike it's working pretty darn well for him.
As for his tracks, they were all produced by Dr Dre so that also explains why they have a catchy beat.
Yes, I do like Eminem purely for his talented rapping ability but not for stinking attitude. I'm hearing some positive comments coming from movie critics on his debut movie '8 Mile'. It appears the guy can act as well. I'll be watching this to find out when the film hits the streets here....
Why u talking about rap music when this forum is clearly a electronic music forum

First off, saying he sucks because he said "Nobody listen(S) to techno" is retarded. At least have something solid to say when you diss someone who is obviously doing something MOST OF US COULD NEVER EVER DO. People take things to damn literally nowadays....He's from DETROIT! Detroit has a long history with techno - I doubt he serisouly believes that. Oh and about Moby - WHO WOULDN'T make fun of him? He's so geeky you gotta admit he's just asking for it...He's like the kid that shows up to the playground wearing highwater pants, thick ass glasses with a damn pocket protector who happens to make music...I'd kick his ass and make fun of him too...
hehe yeah i agree, i'd make fun of moby too. most ppl who listens to moby are like 40 year olds and up. and that 'we're all made of stars' damn it scared me.
