It's true that Digweed wasn't as good as expected. But I really enjoyed it, he stays one of the best for me.
But I just have to pass here and say that I was pretty impressed by Creator. Didn't know him until then and I def. will look foward to him if he's always playing the style of music he spinned at the circus. Luved that.
Props Creator!
Coming from an outsider, hardcore Hiphop head that luvs to dance and discovered years ago that my style just FIT on progressive house.
Peace
Hey Rewts, very nice of you to take the time and write this. Always room for new fans :-)
Until next time, you can catch all my sets on www.djcreator.ca
From a very enthusiastic sounding John Digweed on his latest Transitions 367 radio show. "... Circus Afterhours in Montreal, second time playing that club this year. Had another fantastic time, really love the soundsystem there."
Also later in the episode he says,"Ross Evana - 'Thrilla In Manila' That rocked the dancefloor at Circus last Saturday night/Sunday morning"
Ross Evana - 'Thrilla In Manila' (Cocoon Recordings) by rossevana
I thought his set was pretty goood for the most part. At times, it did get too hard for my liking and yes sometimes the flow was a little off. At those times, I just chose to sit and rest, go for a smoke, or check out the other rooms. Some parts had the crowd in awe, but he didn't maintain those moments for too long. You have to keep in account his busy tour schdule and that he is human at the end of the day. Not all his sets will be spectacular, and it's a little daft to walk into a club expecting that.
Now, I really don't get how people say that his set was bad?? Loosen up a little. For me, it was better than most of the sets I've heard in Toronto throughout the year. Yes, it's not the best I've heard from him, but he had people dancing and smiling the whole night. The sound system was great, you had plenty of space to dance, club was well organised, staff were friendly..
Anyways, my friends and I had good night. We ended up leaving a little after seven as we were exhausted at that point and the music was getting a little too intense. It was my first time at circus after the renovations and it definitely won't be the last.
sick man come back to Montreal soon
