After spending last few years working in Canadian Army, doing a full time BA in history for next two years. On most weekends, I teach a basic recruit course. Keeps me pretty busy and out of trouble.

i managed to pay for part of my education with freelance design work and regular deejaying, but the truth is my program left me with next to no time at all for it. 2 all nighters a week was common, and it was typical to be in studio til 2-3 am every night. a lot of the other students sought jobs in the labs and shops - CAD, metal, wood, laser, mill - so that they could actually use their position to get a leg up on studio work.

Why would anyone work if he doesn't need to?

I agree on the time management thing and not being a lazy, poor ass. But I refuse to do anything because it looks good on my resume. That's a terrible motivation. It's like enlarging your breasts in order to find a better boyfriend... wait, can I still change my opinion?

i dunno, i think it really helped me personally. the economy was especially bad when i graduated, and i was lucky enough to have a resume with some work experience.

hahaha well in this instance you might be right... my first job out of college was for this technology company and the CFO at the time was the one who interviewed/hired me and he was a total creepster. he would always tell me i reminded him of his girlfriend, rated employee photos (we had an internal photo directory for our 3 branches), and would tell other girls in the office things like "nice legs." but he claimed it was his way of telling her her skirt was too short? needless to say, he got fired, but yeah...i'm pretty sure he hired me cause he thought i was hot. he told me every other person he'd interviewed was either fat or black (he was a total scumbag racist) and that he deleted any male candidates from the e-mails if they applied. also one of the ugliest people i've ever seen in person. he looked like a greasy troll.
