U'll always have people arguing with you, its impossible to please every1 and it seems the sooner u learn that and also to accept opposition the better for youself if not every1 else u may meet along the way.
I read those threads.. (most of the pages anyways)
I didn't see anything nasty in there, just some clear disagreements and cheapshots regarding "cheese" DJs/producers or whatever..
That's to be expected though... when u have ppl from all different corners of the world it's obvious some of them are bull-headed in terms of what their idea of trance should be and what they consider to be good...
There are many tunes out there that I know 'suck' technically but for some reason I still like them, and there are some that are 'awesome' technically but I can't stand them.
The point here is that nobody is restricted from saying what they want on the forums, for or against.. they can say Jules sucks or that they have a statue of him in their room, whatever. Just as you're adamant on your tastes as being "right" so are they, that won't ever change - and moderating things to a more 'utopian/politically-correct' flow is not a direction I'll ever go in.
Chill out and listen to some beats, place the ppl who bother you on your ignore list, and dance.

| Originally posted by D_G U have a good point, but what i see is stright forward abuse.. if i dont like something some one else likes.. im a wanker, im an arse hole.. it gets to the point where u cant beat them, so u join them.. and its ''ur wanker'' ''no ur a wanker, u dont like the tune'' blah blah blah... All u need to say is ''I think the tune is good even if u dont'' is it that hard or do u need to swear and curse to keep ur ''cool'' status ? |

im just curious why a lot of people are so against having several thousand posts in a forum?
i post in a local scene discussion board, have been a member for the past 3 years, also am a moderator on said forum. i think my post count is something like 4500... me and a few other regulars are in the top 5 list of postings.
i dont think that makes me lame or anything, i just like to participate in the discussions and the community feeling of the forum, so my post count is rather high.

Of course, but there's a much better way of dealing with this rather than generalizing the whole TA-community and saying they are all abusive! If people start throwing shit at you like they did in that Oceanlab-thread,why don't you just say like:"what's with the flaming?can't I have my own opinion anymore?" or something like that.People will then easily see who's the pathetic since you've got your own opinion that you can back up with solid arguments, while the only thing they've got in return is flaming.
This is exactly like what happened to me in another Tiesto-thread.I said that IMHO Tiesto needed to refresh his recordbox, since he kept spinning the same tunes over and over too much.Instantly, two morons starting flaming me,accusing me of being on the anti-Tiesto bandwagon, without knowing jackshit about my opinion on Tiesto at all.But instead of going all flame-happy,I simply responded that they couldn't know of my opinion on Tiesto at all,and it was pretty dumb of them to judge me simply on that one post that I had made.I then pointed out that it isn't a very healthy thing for a forum when you can't critize Tiesto without getting your head bitten off.
After that, both the flamers haven't opened their mouths at me again. You just gotta have some patience, and respect the fact that people have different opinions. And when it all just gets way too unfair, you just retort the way that I wrote above.Starting threads like this and flame the hell out of people on the forum isn't gonna help one bit.
