Most music stores carry that. I don't know why companies don't use a download system. Most of this stuff is all impulse purchases.

That's the entire reason they went modular. My imac has a DVD drive and in 6 years I've maybe used it 60 times (and most of that was for burning CD's for my CDJ which for 99% of the population wouldn't be needed).

Clay is right; you're just meant to connect thunderbolt to the monitor, then everything to the screen. or you can buy a thunderbolt distro hub for under $150 that gives you every connection you could need.

I do like the idea of buying a base model 6 core, upping the RAM myself and knowing I'm done with buying a computer for 3-5 years.

$150? Where? The cheapest one I've seen is the CalDigit one and thats $200. Doesn't even support Thunderbolt 2.

I could well be wrong on the price but I think Dave (cryo) posted one up a few weeks ago

EDIT: Oops, it's the belkin one at $235 on amazon. It does look pretty damn sweet though.

There's lots of problems with bus powered USB devices. Bus powered hard drives may not work and phones/tablets won't charge. Note that the dock itself has a power adapter that you have to plug in, so these problems are completely retarded.

Wat? It won't charge devices when you use an adapter?

That makes no sense at all. I get it with bus powered hubs as the port itself can only give a set amount of volts/amps but there's no excuse with a wallwart power supply.

I have a few of those belkin docks. They are powered by a psu. I wish they made one with dual hdmi.
