Such a great night!!
Thanks to everyone who came out and made it so special. We had a blast getting things going and John just destroyed it. Deep, dark, energetic, relentless...we loved every minute. So much fun and what an honor to have him at Marquee. Truly an inspirational artist for us and so many others.
review:
got there early to a nice empty room, sleepy and boo were doing their thang!!! solid solid opening set. set the mood nice
i honestly didnt like john's intro and first 3 tracks i felt it was totally off point on what sleepy and boo were playing
after that he started to pick things up and get into his zone
he def had a few good moments but overall his set lacked flow and consistent. overall it was a fun time, just i have seen him do alot better
the sound and lighting was great.
the negatives are def the douchebag crowd and the asshole bathroom attentants. letting people skip the line right out in the open is not cool and then when i question it they tell me "get off the line" yea ok such assholes

there was no one outside then, unlike for luciano, strange.

Digweed started around 1:15 I think.
Remember guy gerber showed up to say what up to diggers, that was cool of him.

idc if cheap, but esp. at Marquee, kinda necessary, cause every tiny little bottles sets you back 9 bucks
I did try for some water from the front, that didn't work, always out, just my luck.
im so happy i finally got to see john digweed play a set on a friday night.
it was great seeing all the usual suspects. i got there at 11pm and was there until the end.
great night of music all night long. sleepy & boo played a killer opening set and everybody was just loving it on the dance floor. it feels real good when the crowd really gets going from the first minute.
i cant complain much about the people at the club and didn't really have an issue minus for the guy that spilled bit of his drink on me at one point. some people were complaining about the loudness of the music but i thought it was perfect.
really loved what digweed was playing minus that dubby track he played for a minute. i agree with ay star that it wasnt quite the journey set that we were expecting (hernan at stereo definitely spoiled us) but his mixing and track selection is something else. i got to watch him behind the decks for a bit was just amazed how he does it all, its a work of art.
yeah, it was cool that guy gerber actually showed up to say hi. i think he stayed around for about 35 minutes or so.
i got to take a picture with digweed after the show and the legend took a picture with me again. thanks to sleepy&boo again for making it happen, you have no idea how much i appreciate it!
cant wait for the next one!

You're calling a bathroom attendant a "prick"?
This is not the most luxurious job in the world. They have to deal with tons of people all night. They have to clean up after the mess people leave. Its not fun. I would never want to do it, and I sympathize with everyone who does do it.
Have a little empathy for those who are working hard to make a buck.
Ok - there...I said it. Phew.

downstairs has both a seperate mens and womans room
the upstairs on has 2 single bathrooms, they are unisex so there was 2 dif lines with both males and females on each line
there's just not enough bathrooms, ditto with the coat check.lots of place are like that, alas, no wonder given the rent per square foot in city.

what's really strange is how, even though it's not big, there never seems to be much of a line at the basement men's room at pacha, yet it's the one most floor peeps will use, who'd be dumb enough to go upstairs just for that?
personally nvr. been upstairs at Marquee, and not until Luciano did I realize that there was that deep lounge area off to the side, lol....
(why people love to hang out there idk, you're so removed from the action, might as well stay home and do the live stream)
biggest complaint, and space prob. doesn't allow this any other way, is that the smoke area at Marquee is right out front on 10th, with the wonderful presence of city's unfinest. very relaxing.
