Oh come on...... How do u say come in in dutch Komm jet!
Those sets are in my opnion milestones, as are his mix cd's. I for example couldnt think of any big outstanding PVD set, yes they're all solid and cool and i like them but..not more than that.

I used to like Tiesto (1999) but I found out (by personal experience) he's "not such a nice person" in real life.

DJ's who are still 'pure' are hard to find, but they excist. I rather listen to them.

Posted by TranceGiant on Nov-02-2002 14:35:

Oh....now you made me curious
Would u mind sharing your not so good experience with mr. verwest?

Posted by jp on Nov-02-2002 14:39:

I'll do that after work.

Posted by morsy on Nov-02-2002 17:06:

anyways now he is coming to montreal and i feel it is gonna full of kids and people that will shout OAKEY OAKEY and im afraid it is gonna be bad, crowd wise just because hes known to be #1` and will be on all magazines and stuff it will attract a lot of people that wont even care about the music...IMO

Posted by dhaz on Nov-02-2002 17:54:

This cracks me up.

Why do u guys give so much of a shit ?

I like Tiesto, PvD...pretty much all of the top 20. They're good reliable DJs who play music i enjoy and will dance to when I go out. Live and let live, i say. Any kind of chart is a little pointless as an attempt to 'rate' DJs, but it's an interesting read.

But i do get a little pissed off when my fellow Brits make highly-opinionated elitist comments with regard to DJs they don't like. It's akin to the prog mentality of trance-bashing. 'Tiestos gay 'cos i think he was better last year' who cares? not me.

tiesto, number one??? HAHAHA...thats why sooo many people in the nl are pissed cuz he's selling out doing all this pop shit? thats why when tiesto comes to miami, A LOT of people are like "eh whatever", while when pvd comes everyone goes nuts!!!

my opinion, pvd shoulda been number one, HE HAD AN AMAZING YEAR!!! the only person that i would accept being higher than pvd is sasha.

and if you want proof that this list is bullshit, fatboy slim at 22?????? riiiiiiiiiiiight. no westbam, no james lavelle, no phil k, ETC ETC ETC

PvD owns us dudes... get the point! 2002 is definately not a good year for our old good Tiesto...

cheers

He fucking blows goats... His best set ever was back in 2000.. 2 years ago, he's now just a washed up sell out.

That's true, Tiesto was good, he isn't now...

i know it's not quite the same as the magazine has been around for a while now, even so..

Hell yeah! If you would see Tiesto #1 in "Playboy" you would definately believe it!Everything is a matter of propaganda. It's time that you should all understand that media have control of the popularity for everyone...

Hmmm??

For those of you that are bashing Tiesto, choose just one person that would be better fit for the no. 1 spot of this DJ Poll.

Cant think of any? That's cuz there are none. His influence in the field has been enormous and no decent DJ has done that much for the scene. As some1 pointed out earlier, he is one of the most requested DJ's. Though popularity might be part of the reason he is ranked 1, he definitely deserves it after so many years of work. Give him some credit guys...

...unless of course u think you are a better DJ than him... LOL

Imagine the Trance scene without Tiesto, come ON he IS one of the gofathers of uplifting trance, like it or not.

DAMN DAMN AND AGAIN, DAMN! I HAVE LMFAO SO BADLY!Hey dude, where did ISOS2 and Magik 6 were released? perhaps one or two years ago? And the livesets? An excellent liveset by Tiesto is the one @ Club Eau The Hague (2nd Year Anniversary 06-03-2001)...

BUT ALL OF THESE BELONG TO THE PAST! WE ARE AT YEAR 2oo2! WAKE THE FACK UP!

PvD @ Rosenmontags 2001
PvD @ Mayday 2002
PvD @ Loveparade 2002
PvD @ Nature One 2002
PvD @ Nova 969 (Amnesia Ibiza) 2002

Heh, You filthy piece of crap...You know nothing about trance...

When PvD was rocking the charts with "For an angel" in year 1994,where was Tiesto?Could you remind me?PvD has done a lot more in the scene than Tiesto did...Tiesto may did some stuff for the scene, may have worked hardly for the last 3-4 years, but PvD is here from the past and will never fade away.He has been and will be writing a history in trance music...

doesnt matter who was playing first trance or how started first as a dj...the main thing is that tiesto is simply the best FOR THIS YEAR!!he proved that and his fans are proud of him!!every year we hear the same things from pvd...the same style trance trance trance...as tiesto said his style is more complete now by playing warming progressive tracks nad techno for the closing...this things must have the best dj in the world and pvd surely dont have those in his playing....tiesto is the best!!!

Wow DJ Steve is on a roll

After a few months without the obvious "Van Duck - Tiesto" bashing threads, the flaming has started again.

This proofs again that DJ Mag is an evil magazine which should be banned by TranceAddicts.

Jan, we're still waiting for your story about Mr. Evil Verwest...

Posted by jp on Nov-03-2002 12:16:

Hey, first I had to welcome our new member ^^

Posted by Ian on Nov-03-2002 12:24:

theres a lot of ppl who USED to like tiesto, when he played good sets, produced amazing uplifting tunes and so on, and had he been voted no1 then, we wouldn't mind, but after pathetic attempts to conquer other genres, and losing a lot of his older fans plus his arrogance that lots of ppl bring up about not signing things and being a bit of a tit, I think we're quite entitled to flame him cos he's abandoning the ppl who loved his style for a newer bunch of sluts to worship him & bow down before his sold out ass

Tiesto came to our student party (in Kremlin). He should have played 2 hours, but after he came too late for 30 minutes he decided it was good enough to stay for 1.5 hours.

He put down a set with some terrible ambient tracks on which it was impossible to dance. When he saw the lame reactions in the crowd, he played lethal industry about 4 times.

After one of the resident DJ's took over, finally the party got started.

30 minutes after he left we heard he said something like 'these students don't understand music'. I cannot confirm this but looking at the way things went that night, I would guess it could be true.

This party took place on a thursday, so he couldn't be tired or something like that.

I just got a bad taste in my mouth from this. Maybe it was an incident...?

I'll give him a second change on November 9th

i'll agree with that much.
Tiesto is still decent, just nothing to compared to what he WAS.
