We were able to purchase tickets for Rufus Du Sol next August, 2025. Tickets were selling out fast.

I'm in for that also! Section 16-L

Also going to Anyma at the Sphere in Vegas December 27.

Gina was looking at tickets for Four-Tet at the Forum in February. Not a big fan but I sorta like him. He's this old dorky dude that just has fun on stage.

Has anyone gone to CRSSD in San Diego? Good time?

My buddy lives close by and I might make the trip down, easy flight from Portland. I saw Sasha & Digweed will be there but was wondering if it's typical 1-2 hour festival sets or if they do something longer.

I have but it's been a while... probably 2018. I'd say it's fun but I remember the crowd being pretty young. A crowd mostly in there early 20s (at least it felt like that). Very "college" party vibe.

Thanks man... I'll probably not make the trip for that one then. Appreciate it!

typical festival set lengths.

i've been a couple times and always had a lot of fun... if you love the lineup no reason not to go. the event does end at like 11pm as its outdoors in downtown SD.

Hey thanks, good to know! I'll keep that in mind. Cheers.

Quite a few friends went to the Sphere for a few DJ shows (Dixon, Anyma, etc). Any thoughts from whoever went?

Was sick! Hard to beat those visuals!

I went the 1st night, the Dixon night. Got to see everything for the first time, so no spoilers for me.

pretty insane! to me it was a step forward similar to Daft Punk at Coachella 2006 in terms of how we experience dance music!

Underworld is coming to the PNW! First time in over 25 years apparently. Going to see them in Portland in May. Can't believe they're coming here. Absolutely stoked.

Venue is just ok (Crystal Ballroom, sound isn't the best) but it's 20 minutes from my house. Can't argue with that.

I got to see Underworld at the Hollywood Bowl, probably 8 years ago. It was the same weekend as EDC, so you had all the young ravers out in Vegas and all the old school folks in attendance for Underworld. Absolutely wonderful vibe. And of course, Underworld put on a GREAT show!

Just purchased tickets for the Royskopp DJ set at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood. Friday of MMD weekend too! I originally thought it was going to be one of their LIVE shows which my wife went to last year. She said the music awesome! Don't know what to expect from their DJ set though.

Yeah man! Can't wait for Underworld!

Hey I'm curious about Royksopp, saw their US tour dates. Loved Melody AM way back, I wonder what their DJ sets are like.

That reminds me, I saw a few other acts are coming to Portland for DJ sets...Rabbit in the Moon (with The Crystal Method), Phil Hartnoll (Orbital)...not sure if I'll give em a shot or what their sound is like these days.

Just got tickets to see Digweed in Seattle in 2 weeks. Decided to hold off on CRSSD this year. Seattle is an easy drive though.

I'm not too sure about their DJ sets as well. The little I saw was not super impressive. Not bad but nothing mind blowing. Just 2 guys throwing down ravey/bumping tracks.

I've got a buddy of mines who wants to do a guys night out, so I'm trying to find an event for us. The only thing I saw that looked tempting was Sven Vath in March. I just know it'll be expensive though. And I can't do the late night parties anymore.

LA has a ton of events going on every week but nothing really appeals to me. It's all these new DJs who I don't have a lot of knowledge of but the younger generation seems to really dig them.

Digweed killed it last night. Smaller club, packed and dark, drenched in sweat, great sound. Two hours of pure Digweed - impeccable mixing for a driving journey of heavy hitters. Lots of fellow dancers and trainspotters.

The last 40 minutes were absolutely punishing, starting with But Cherries Stained Her Lips which was a total facemelter. Just relentless after that. My legs still hurt a day later.

He ended with Saints & Sinners - Pushing too Hard (from Communicate) which was a treat to hear live. Lost my mind when I heard it come in.

What a set!

IDs I caught:

Moshic - I took your love (No vox dub mix)
Budakid - Freedom (Patrice Baumel mix)
Derderwandert - Clara
Guy J - Stranger in a Strange World
Works of Intent, Channan Hanif - But Cherries Stained Her Lips
Rverie - Impulse
Guy Mantzur, Khen - Nothing Lasts
Saints & Sinners - Pushing Too Hard
(maybe 8kays - Waves at some point?)

My wife saw a guy wearing a "retro trance addict" hoodie, didn't get a chance to ask if he was a TA.

Anyone going to Sven Vath this weekend? Or Michael Bibi? Both are in Hollywood. Michael Bibi is a day event (ends at 11 or midnight) on Hollywood Blvd. I don't know who Michael Bibi is but I know a few that are going. If anything, I'd go to Sven. One of the rare chances to see the legend.

Anyone get tickets to Autechre? I missed out, they sold out here in Portland in minutes. Saw em in 2015 when they came through, amazing show. Didn't think they'd still be selling out so fast in 2025...going for over $230 each on StubHub when purchase price was like $40. Madness.

Posted by 72hrpartyanimal on Mar-17-2025 15:30:

Went to Sven Vath over the weekend and HOLY SHIT, was he amazing. The man is incredible. From the tracks he plays, to his personality behind the decks. I could not recognize one track he played. There is something beautiful about hearing vinyl being played too. Every now and then, you could hear a track skip a bit but it never bothered any of us. It's like the imperfections made it perfect.

Posted by camshaft on Mar-24-2025 22:21:

Rad! Glad it was a great show! Thought about seeing Sven a few times and glad he still delivers. Fantastic. I'll keep an eye out if he hits Portland.

Marsh coming here in May... considering it...maybe LTJ Bukem in July, too.

Just got home from the Portland show.

Dude you weren't kidding. Easily the best live act I've seen, no contest. You could tell they're totally into it, Karl is so kinetic and dynamic, all over the stage (at age 68!), and that energy and positivity just radiated out into the dancefloor...people grinning ear to ear the whole time. Sold out, packed, great crowd, amazing vibe, everyone singing along and dancing, all ages though we were definitely on the younger end being in our 40s. Saw a handful of kids with their parents which was awesome. Just sheer joy and euphoria. People were in tears at the end and embracing just overwhelmed with emotion, and pretty sure Karl and Rick were teary eyed up on stage too.

They played two sets, about 3 hours total with a 30 minute intermission. Great set list, everything you could hope for.

Live versions of Pearl's Girl (Tin There), Moaner, and King of Snake were especially intense...just layers and layers building up, played at blistering speed (never heard any of their tracks played so fast!). On top of some honestly phenomenal light production and strobes and fog it hit sensory overload in the best way. Transcendent.

Highlights: everyone singing all the words to Born Slippy (Nuxx) at the end. Karl Hyde looking and pointing right at me and singing "you bring light in" during Two Months Off. Incredible vibe, total old school raver crowd.

Hell of a show. I'm still buzzing.

If anyone gets a chance to see them Friday in SF - GO.

bro! that is amazing. I'm so glad they still got it! Definitely a group that still loves what they do.
