Ravers gone wild here we come.

yes we should have a TA crew heading to WEMF this year. Last yr it was just Hordash and me who met up.

Ya - basically the city/authorities pressured the docks to stop doing rqaves - they did this by threatening to take away their licence for August of this coming summer - because the docks agreed to no more raves, the LCBO changed that month of suspension to May when its not that busy there... pretty lame from a city that said they wanted us to use safe licensed venues...

Excellent point, Allan! I would totally love to hit up WEMF with some fellow TA's.

Hmmm... I'm actually considering showing up for this event. The variety of stuff to be spun is appealing to me. If I do go, I'll be sure to bring some of the girls with me.
Do any of you that are going happen to live in Hamilton? How much are the ticket outlets adding as a "service charge"? I'll be down there this weekend/next week, and if I can avoid Hustler's shitty 28% service charge, I'd rather pick the tix up while in Hamilton.
Is there going to be a roll call thread for this anytime soon? I'm curious to see who's going.

yes, this looks to be a nice little shindig. lots of different styles to appease the peasants. i would love to go to this, but sadly, picotto has called out a whack on me, and i will be dead after the 14th plus i have to be back to feed my cats ^_^

Oh c'mon... I'm sure you can scrounge up an ounce of energy to come on the 15th. As for the cats - buy some rats/mice, set them loose before you leave for Mauro (I love that name, sorry, distracted, lol), and not only do they get entertainment, but they get the satisfaction of actually having worked for their food.

man the saga never ends does it .. ?? my last party there was Syrous:Bittersweet 2002 and personally i thought it was awesome. I was really hoping that they'd bring back more parties there. And what the hell do they define as a 'rave' anyways?? Do they have a hit list for like certain promoters who hold their events there as considered 'raves'?? So if I threw some Top40 jam there then that's not a rave is it ? man that's just BS .. 3 years after the first iDance and still nothing has changed if anything only worse ..

BTW, I think in the next year or two we are going to see some bigger parties again. Promoters say that big venues weren't available, I may be wrong, but I just think promoters didn't have the cash to rent them. The demand for raves has been low last couple of years, hence profits for parties wouldn't be high enough. But now that demand for raves is there again, I'm sure promoters will start looking harder and will actually find something good and large

The big problem is the MEDIUM venues... right now, parties are getting in the 1500+ range but to jump up to the next avaialble venue size you need about 4000+... Oddly enough there are no 3000 range venues out there for rent for this type of thing (now that the docks is out of the picture) - just clubs for now or the CNE/Trade centre for the big stuff. The story changes when you leave the city but who wants to drive an hour or two every weekend? Hopefully more spots come around soon! I'm glad WEMF is my next challenge - lots of room in a farm field!!
