umm...all i can say is 'WOW'
wow...that's it's after 1am MONDAY and i haven't been to bed yet
wow...BT for the first time (the man who is responisble for my love of electronic music)
wow...James Holden...was hoping for a little darker set but simply AMAZING (no 93 returning mix...sob sob )
wow...Ferry...again...saw him for the first time at the 6 year party but i'm glad he spun in KH this time, great track selection (so many classics), great transition from Holden's set (did everyone overlook this?), the first few tracks fit very well with the end of Holden's set and provided a smooth move into the epic trance that people come to see him for (that first encore OWNED )
wow...walking out at 8am...ow...light...hurt...eyes
wow...TO is freakin cold

well this was my 3rd time at Guv/KH and it keeps getting better, it's important to me because my best friend and I drive 5 hours from Pittsburgh, PA just to come to this club, met a lot of great people AGAIN (if any of you guys are reading this then PM me...sorry we never got to exchange contact info...Collin, Tamara, Steve, Collin2, ummm???), i love TO, the people are beautiful and MOST are very nice and personable, plenty of room to dance...i could go on but i need sleep
peace TO...until April...

Ghost Smilie what a trip

you people would not believe what me and my best friend had to go thew to make it to this party, but damn was it worth it!!! first i had to get my car registered so it was legal to drive....then i had to buy a new cd player cause my old one was broke.....thanks you best buy for the install then the trip to toronto from pittsburgh was such a bitch........first mapquest gave us some shitty directions and we had to drive all the way around buffalo...that took an extra 45 minutes, then came the rain....man people dont know how to drive in the rain!!!!.....then my car kinda broke down 30 minutes outside of to.....to much water got inside my hood scoop on my crx and basically water logged my engine.....but being the awsome mechanic i am...i was able to fix that problem within 30 minutes. finally we got to our hotel and changed then it was off to the club. BT....amazing....but wouldnt it have been 10 times better if jan johnson was there to provide the live vocals? james holden......awsome set...anybody know how old this kid is? haha Ferry,....awsome job blending his set with james.....then it just got harder and harder!!! it amazing the reaction of the crowd every time he drops punk. it was also nice to hear pocket damage. well 36 hours without sleep...i feel like a zombie. cant wait till the next party!!!

Come on Naveed! We all know what you were on!

J/K
It was nice seeing you once again, at another Rave outing!

Wow, lots of Americans last night. Every second person I ran into was fucking from Buffalo or Joizey.

Red, white and blue, we love you!

Posted by Endlesswave on Mar-10-2003 07:43:

^^^^^ well where else are they supposed to go but here (or Miami?) considering many clubs down there are being shut down (or are tried to be at least) I met a guy from Calgary who was there but that's about it. No one from down South.

Yes...Ferry is certainly a fucking GOD! I got in there about 11pm....Addy was cool for a bit. Nothing to make me cum in my pants but still a good warm up Dj. It took BT fucking forever to set up his "digital symphony" and as expected, he disappointed me and my buddies. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I gave his set about 40 minutes and then I was out of there to take in some Oliver in the main room and what I heard in there felt like a good old rave! (around 1:30 - 3ish). He's still a dink up there in the decks....no personality for sure, but my respect has gone up for him since Labour of Love, where his 2 hour set was drivel. Sorry, I don't drive 2 hours to see a 9 hour Mark Oliver set. I do like his Timeless Trance cd though.

Anyway, I'm so pissed off I missed about 45 minutes of Holden's set but my buddies wanted to chill in the hip hop room for a bit so I just took a breather. They wouldn't listen to me about Holden. But when we finally got in there, damn he was good. I'm not a progressive fanatic but what he did play was goooooooooood shit! He got me moving for sure and he's whacky on the decks.

Ferry was a little late but he fucking ROCKED!! Yes, his set was far better than Tiesto's I must say! Tons of trance, some progressive, some breaks....damn it was good. There were a few cheesy vocal tracks in the beginning and near the end but I almost went insane when he dropped Out of the Blue, Tenshi, Elevate, Punk and Ligaya. Holy FUCK! And he was SOOO nice too..easily the best personality I've seen! He signed so much stuff for EVERYONE who wanted something, ranging from vinyl, cd's, paper, shirts, bus passes, and MONEY! What a guy! But the best was when I saw a girl I know from the Tiesto forum....her name is Blanka (Mindcircus on the forum). She was the gorgeous one with the large chest up there dancing around. Anyway, she saw me and brought me up there on the stage and I got my picture with Ferry! I talked with him a bit after the set, told him he killed us all. I asked him what was up with Gouryella and he said "I'm going to try to get Tijs (pronounced TICE..aka Tiesto) to do another one with me this year. He's been busy...he is the number 1 now!" and gave me a big wink. I wonder what's really going on between them. Anyway, holy fuck....I haven't had anything special like that happen to me in a long time and I'm so grateful to Blanka for getting me up there. THANK YOU! By the way, I was in a blue plaid shirt with glasses with a tall black guy on the stage if anybody remembers me up there.

Anyway, I give the night a 10 for fun level and a 9 for music. Addy was appropriate, BT blew, Holden rocked and Ferry killed. He is a master of trance AND can spread out to other genres. I look for him to improve in this year's djmag poll.

Scheie!!! Saturday was way too long! I'm surprised I made it as long as I did @ Corsten (I left at 7:30ish did he play much longer [I think Seven Cities was the last song I heard]).

And with only 4 hours sleep on Sunday off for the family function I went..... But man did I sleep good last night!

I guess I was torn apart from Johan the night before and was not really in the mood to put up with nice guts and breasts jiggling in my face all night, haha. I did have lots of laughs though. It was pretty entertaining. Too bad most of those people are there to pick up and not for the music.

Mike and I didn't have to wait in line too long. It moved along pretty fast. We got in there and met up with RJ and As and a bunch of other TA's. Can't remember names, too many. I mostly chatted during Addy and BT. Sat down for a bit. Then I eventually made it out to the front. Al I can say is where ever I was it must have been a through way for people to walk. RJ and I also had a nice wall of the tallest people in the place standing in front of us, lots tall women too. But Holden was amazing. He has a unique style. Even though all I could do was bop my head. I started dancing a bit when Ferry came on but was just too tired to stick around. We left at about 5:30.

Shoutouts to everyone who I saw and met. I must have missed something cause I didn't know where half of you were all night.

RJ you kept me laughing thanks.
As I guess you didn't fall asleep this time
Rich you looked like you were having so much fun.
Diginut nice seeing you again.

Tuss good to meet you. Was it your friend that was all cracked out? He kept trying to get us to read his shirt and it said Ibiza. I wasn't quite sure what he was getting at but he kept hanging off of us and drooling or something.

Nat too bad I didn't get to see more of you. We have a picture of that robot man (yeah it was cool) and in the picture across the way there you are.
Monish happy birthday! Good to see a bright smile on your face.

Hordash I didn't even recognize you in your disguise. It was funny when Mike asked you if you were a TA.

I know I met a lot more but my brain is still too tired. Overall an okay night.

i could make it out from the look on your face your were not too happy, well its those damn ginos, who are there to just pick up chicks.

well i had an awesome time other than the fact those girls dancing with me were on crack and i dont like to take advantage of anyone else.

Holden and Ferry blew me away. Yeah i didnt even recognize mirza when he walked in with us.

Posted by DJ_D-funkstatus on Mar-10-2003 19:33:

Ferry ROCKED!!! hes exactly what i hoped for live!i had not seen him before and will go see him again next time he's around.any of the other djs there i thought kinda sucked but my reasoning at the time told me they were good because all i cared about was hearing was Ferry Corsten.

Lets ALL face it that place sucks, with the meatheads and bimbos and all.prick bouncers and some lady at the door molesting me!I only put up with the crap so as i could hear Ferry for my first time.I did leave happy after his set though.

heres a Jim Rome quote:"if you swing off a brass pole, your a hooker!,probably not a good career choice".

Posted by charmscars on Mar-10-2003 20:15:

ok..I'm finally ready to give a review:

BT's set was fun...lots of energy
Holden was good. enjoyed him more towards the end..would have liked more
Ferry- better than at 6 year..but I wasn't feeling it

all in all a good night..didn't top howells/fontaine @ aria in February, but still an enjoyable time

good:
- free passes and someone bought me a water- I only spent $ for coat check at the club
-met lots of TA's
-every single person i met at the club was nice
-a good selection of members from my crew attended
-lower incidence of guys wearing toques but no shirts (that dichotomy annoys the fuck out of me)
- no (as another poster put it) "holy fuck" moments- no one told me anything disturbing, I didn't see anyone who was suffering from catatonia to a point of needing medical attention, and no one was sexually aggressive w/ me or my friends
-good chill out day yesterday..got tulips

bad:
-the new york sub-sect of our crew kept losing eachother
-i never made it into the guvernment and there was someone i was looking forward to meeting in there
-i forgot about taking pictures until it was late and i didn't get pics w/ some ppl that i would have liked to
- the walk to the car

so really...I have little to complain about

liam: thanks for the intro's to all the TA's and I'm glad that I was able to get you in free b/c of yours (and rj's) efforts
chris: good to see you as always
steve: such a sweetheart
aaron: good to meet you- no worries about the drunkeness
karlos: good to meet you (liked your hat)
rich: nice energy!
az: charmed!
nathalie: you're golden
to the TA that chatted about vitamins w/ me: thanks and it was good to meet you- I'm sorry, but i forget your name

It was great meeting all the other TA's as well-- it totally added to my night

I kind of forgot that my pictures are on the site so everytime someone recognized me it freaked the hell out of me....esp when it was lurkers

charmscars

ps. this is how cool i am: my reaction to seeing swamper: stared at him for 5 minutes and didn't introduce myself

Posted by mute79 on Mar-10-2003 21:00:

oh yeah, special k, good meeting you on saturday... just remember to keep your mouth shut from now on, or else

Posted by Time2Burn on Mar-10-2003 22:01:

To Ferry:

"Why, didnt I see
This before

Why, didnt i come
Back for more

Now, I do feel
The pain inside

Now, I have seen
All I can do is hide and..

Crrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy...
All I can do is, cry
Like this "

In the words of system f and starfox: I CRY!

Ferry totally destroyed me the best set i've heard him play. I staggered out at the end legs cramped up beyond belief and a feeling of totally satisfaction. The dutch trance Gods sure punished me this weekend for the sin of loving trance!!

BT proved that MACS do RULE! But my energy wasn't there yet so I spent most of his set relaxing with good company. He is such a fucking rock star all glamed up up there. Good performer though, and although he did NOT blow everyone away he got everyone hungry for more.

Holden's set was where my body started to feel the beat. His style is very dancable and I quickly found myself right up front (in the middle of "tribers" no less) bouncing and bopping away. Eventually found the Trancaddict spot and found my home for the night right to the side of the stage.

When Ferry came on it was obvious who most of the people came to see. The rush to the stage was almost overwhelming too many ppl trying him to get him to sign shit. Suprisingly he seemed to love it and signed evey peice of napkin, 5 dollar bill, flyer and cowboy hat that people would shove up on the decks. The technical problems at the start of it were a bit confusing but it was solved and everything was fine. And to make what could be a very long tale short he totally rocked the place.

Guvernment: You gotta get your fucking act together with crowd contol and people flow. IMO the place needs a total redesign because although they can fit 3000 people or more into the place they don't have the capicity to handle the traffic that it caused by so many people.

At about 11:30 I went into the Orange room to say hi to a friend. After buying her a bithday shot I proceeded to return to the Kool Haus only to find a "labour of Love-esque" traffic jam at the door to get back in. The one bouncer at that door told me that NO ONE was getting in to the KOOL HAUS. I basically said "BULLSHIT I came here for this and I am not taking this shit." It sucks to have security be such assholes but i've grown to be accustomed to it at the guv. Eventually I assisted two girls sneek past the door gaurd and as he chased them down into the orange room I and everyone else charged back into the Kool Haus... Only to find that there was TONS OF SPACE!

Fave moment of the night for me was System F CRY. Everyone singing along hands in the air sharing the wicked vibe that always exists at the end of an awesome party. Me and Ferry's manager had a little sing along to the lyrics to which he raised his champange glass(hmm or JD) to me.

I found the crowd to very friendly the vibe in there was awesome. But that could have had something to do with the fact that I was surrounded by TAs all night. And at this point it goes without saying that this group is the best people to party with of all time.

OK... long review over.. shout outs to come soon...

An amazing night!!!!
Holden & Corsten played amazing sets!!!! BT was greatly enjoyed as well.
Even the people in our bunch that are not too much into this music were out there dancing like crazy....
Line up wasn't too long and found a pretty nice spot in Kool Haus to dance the night away without being pushed and stepped on
It was really nice to meet some of the TA's (Time2Burn,infinity HIGH & Tatgirl)
In case you don't remember me, i was the one tagging along with bandit

Posted by hysterie on Mar-10-2003 22:29:

had an amazing time at the guv, but that was basically inevitable considering that holden and corsten were there. i thought the amount of people in the club was perfect cause you could be right at the front dancing withought getting trampled. the energy level was crazy, from the crowd as well as the djs. i can't believe how the place wasn't emptying out at all.
anyway, posting to say hi to all the tas i got to meet, and especially the ones i got to talk to.
lkd (thanks for intros)
