i only read 2 pages of this and didnt want to read the rest, but i wanted to comment on something i read:

quote:
but if she's on birth control.. whats the proB? unless she ain't a V...

how about her protection from you? unless you are a virgin as well. many stds are not testable. the two most common, HPV and herpes, are prime examples. a HUGE percentage of sexually active people have them and never show symptoms, thus, they keep getting spread. unless you show symptoms, for the most part, they are undetectable.

its called being safe.

not to mention, birth control can be faulty. it depends on the type, as well. if a girl is taking a pill daily, there is a definite chance of user error. the pill is only 99% effective IF its taken at the same time every day.. if its not, the effectiveness goes down. thus, it IS possible to get pregnant, even with birth control. maybe its just me, but i personally DO NOT want to get pregnant, and thus, my boyfriend always wears condoms. if he doesnt like it, he can deal with having to get the abortion when i get pregnant because of it. doesnt matter tho, hes getting a vasectomy, and thats the only time ill feel comfortable with him not wearing condoms.

True...True.. but all people are different, you have to decide for yourself how to be safe...like me and my gf we dont use protecction, shes not on any pills i dont have nothing done to me...we know each other very well and we feal comfortable with it..its been a long time since we stopped using protection and so far thank god(knock knock) othing happen it all depends on personalities

well, i can only say if you hope the fact that you 'know each other very well' will keep her from getting pregnant, you are one sorry sap.

don't be an idiot and think that nothing bad will happen to you. you are not invincible, although many teens think they are. you won't be thanking god anymore when he sends a bloody and wailing package to your bathroom floor. and no im not putting religion in here, its just a reference to your 'thank god (knock knock)'.

if this is your personalized decision on 'how to be safe', then you don't know what the word 'safe' means. sorry !

while you're at it, you should both get tested for stds. you may have been virgins before you met each other, but oral sex can give you all the same things.

this is the type of irresponsible attitude which is the cause of millions of teenage mothers and an unwanted birth rate. tell me, what makes you think she wont get pregnant? do you pull out? does that make you feel safe? check out some statistics. that method has an extremely high fail rate. so, what are you going to do once she does get pregnant? (note i didnt say "if", i said "WHEN".) are you going to use abortion as a means of birth control? if not, i can only assume that at this point in your life, you want a child... because i cant for the life of me think of any reason besides that that you would be doing the most irresponsible thing EVER.

i really hope you are 15, or uneducated.. that would be the only excuse.

for fucks sake.. go to planned parenthood, get some free pills and dont be a selfish idiot who is just going to spawn accidentally and pollute this society with another unwanted child.

no, it depends on intelligence, which you obviously dont possess related to this issue. its one thing for your girlfriend to be on birth control and to not wear condoms, and to be fine with that. its another to use NOTHING, and to still have this farfetched idea that you wont have a child together. why is this concept so hard to grasp?

by the way, i would also like for you to explain how you and your girlfriend are deciding to be "safe".

OK...how does it depent on intelligence..I mean you can be a recket scientist and still get a girl pregnant. I mean cmon its not intelligence its more like a choice...what you think if i dont use condoms Im retarded or something..NO
anyways birth control pills have many side effects, I dont want my girl to take them, nor does she. I know we should be using condoms...trus me I KNOW,i dont want her to get pragnent, but if she did we wouldnt get an abortion, getting bac to the other thing...we use condoms once in a while...when its there...but you know how it is sometimes it just happens and a condom isnt there...I trust her and she trusts me. I understand the consequences that we are taking by not beying "safe" but what i meant be safe is that I know her, shes not some girl to me I met in a bar,we have been going out for more than 2 years.maybe it dosnt mean much too you but people are different. AND I know what the stats say...these are just stats...you can be SAFE as safe can possibly get and still get pregnant or get STD's(by the way we did get tested and it came out negative) I dont want to get nasty here...but plz what you said about polluting society is just fucked up. You have no right of judgeing me, you dont know me.We are being carefull in a way which works for us OK.....theres always a possibility of getting pregnant even if you use every single anti-pregnant "things" SAFE sex is no sex at all!!

alright so PLZ tell me what "safe" means to you than...huh...as I mentioned previously ..you think by wearing a condom will protect you?It only might lower the risk but theres still a big chance of getting pregnant or catching STD's. And NO i dont think im invincible....i just think im luckey...we try to use condoms every time..but there are these times that you dont have one, and im sorry but im willing to take that chance.

godspeed son, you are running full speed towards the edge of a cliff. you seem to think an abortion is no big deal, and that being 'more' (ie 10000x) safe isn't warranted than not being safe at all, because nothing is absolute. well, i don't have the energy to respond more thoroughly, but..

TranceDiablo and (unknown) have first child ! you heard it here first !!

i give you 1 month til she's pregnant, if she isn't yet. have fun fucking up three people's lives with your 'im willing to take that chance' attitude.

enough

actually.. the chance is there, but it's not as big as you might think. birth control pills work in 99.9% of the cases to prevent birth (gah, sorry if the number's off, i took sex ed 4 years ago)... they prevent 0% of stds...

condoms are one of the few things that prevent pregnancy AND stds. and AFAIK, they work in 99.9% of the cases too...

what not many people know, is that you can impregnate someone without actually "cumming"... there's this thing called "preorgasmic ejaculate" or something... long story short, omitting formal terms, sometimes little droplets of sperm come out of your dick before you even insert it into the girl

i don't think you understand what all those things are.

you're not interested in abortion? so are you going to support the baby when it's born?

you think having sex for 2 years and not getting pregnant counts as "being safe"?

don't make outrageous claims. think before you do serious things that require mature judgment

ARE you sure that the use of condoms protect you 99.9%...i can tell you this much...i heard a lot of ppl got pregnant even if they use condoms...including 2 which i know. AND yes I took sex ed for 2 years too so i know about that one. it dosnt happen to all ppl tho.

Because you seem to think having unprotected sex is safe, and because of the way you're reacting to criticism of your ignorant viewpoint. Sex is a responsiblity, and if you're not mature enough to consider the issues involved you're probably not mature enough to have sex, either.

See above. If you don't want to get her pregnant then don't have unprotected sex. It's possible to control your "urges", too.

OH yeah...RIIIIIGHT....when did I say unprotected sex is safe..I dont recall that. If you would follow me you would notice that I just simply said once in a while we dont use a condom. I never said its safe....al I said about safe is that having sex with someone u now is much safer and better i might add then with someone you have just met. And im sorry to dissapoint you but being mature is more then just your decisions about safe sex. I understand your piont...so try to understand mine. dont just criticise me and then dare to tell me that im ignorant because the way i respond...i have protect my decision dont I. so why dont YOU be more mature about this debate.

*sigh*

where to begin...

who do i think i am ? i am someone who recognizes that unprotected sex and an increasingly more obvious immature attitude leads to babies. that's where my prediction comes from. you're right in that i misread one of your posts, thinking you said you would just get an abortion if she got pregnant. my bad. so you wont get an abortion. even better. i sincerely hope you don't get put in that situation just for the kids sake.

the fact that you've been having sex for 2 years with no bad results is surprising, but statistically you're due for a baby now. you've used up all the statistical deviation (or been working at the wrong hole, who knows).

if i am so smart, i should tell you about my relationship ? interesting. i have had my share of adventures, good times, and mistakes, but im not one to go on about that here on a relatively anonymous forum. whats the point ? i don't really want to stoop to your level and rattle off how many relationships ive had, when i lost my virginity, and how often i get laid. simply not interested in discussing this with you. my impression is that i am significantly more 'relationship experienced' than you, if that is a quantifiable thing, and it would serve you well not to attack that credibility.

same here pal, don't listen to these fools and most importantly don't worry about that retarded sothis... getting her guy to do vasectomy, this IS a sign of no intelligence. Maybe this guy will want to have kids later on, wtf is he supposed to do? Why didn't *you* go get your uterus removed??

and for the record, now having unprotected sex for a full year. best sex ever. yes call us old fashioned, but we believe in fidelity

if you all go to your books or doctors and ask, a woman can get pregnant from one to three days per cycle (21-33 days). So you know your woman and when its safe or not. And she knows her body when she's ovulating or not...

for christ sake, pharmaceutical and rubber companies have done more than fine at brainwashing your little brains

WHAATTTTT???? One to three days on a very UNPREDICTABLE cycle!! Then take into consideration that sperm can reside in the vagina for a few days and you have a very potent risk of insemination occurring. And a woman has a GENERAL idea of when she's ovulating, she can't know for sure when she will or will not get pregnant. A woman's menstrual cycle is prone to MANY irregularities such that there is no way that a scientific method can be applied in determining ovulation.

Condom companies BRAINWASHING people??? What harm can come of people taking extra precautions to avoid pregnancies 99% of the time??? That's pure ridiculousness. If unprotected sex is so effective, WHY ARE THERE SO MANY PEOPLE GOING TO ABORTION CLINICS????? They aren't ALL mathematically inept people that can't add and figure out what time of the month it is. And if you think that you can just knock up a girl and get an abortion no sweat, bear in mind that the cost is several hundred dollars to as much as a thousand. And if you think you can support a kid, I hope you have at least 200-300 dollars a month, and ANY time during your life budgeted towards that kid.

There are far BETTER options than having 0 protection. Use foam, use gel, jesus christ there's even a patch that the girl puts on once a week.

Posted by malek on Apr-02-2003 07:45:

NOO Wait... you misunderstood me. Some girls' cycle is 21, some other 33 days. Your girl knows hers, she also knows when there's no more "blood" coming down there. Seven days after, she ovulate, you have to pay attention. Never said its easy. But its a calculted risk.

And more kids have kids because they have more sex ... and they're kids not fully knowing what is a menstrual cycle and such. Kids are also generally less risponsible about protection.

So yes, its a good thing to go all out for protection. But in a stable and long relationship NO FRIGGIN WAY!

Malek, when did sothis ever say she was making her boyfriend have a vasectomy ? Read the posts first u fucking moron, maybe it is his decsion, also she is entitled to her own opinions so dont shoot off about raging feminism beacuse you just make yourself look pathetic and ignorant, which you most probably are, because unless a child is planned then using no child protection is..

a: immature
b: irresponsible
c: just plain stupid

my girlfriend is on the pill and sometimes i feel that, that isnt enough and maybe i should wear condoms..

Posted by sothis on Apr-02-2003 08:20:

mos man summed it up nicely:

quote:
Malek, when did sothis ever say she was making her boyfriend have a vasectomy

for the record, my boyfriend has wanted a vasectomy BEFORE the moment i met him. he happens to share the same view as me about never wanting children. i NEVER pressured him to get one. it was 100% his choice, and still is.

also for the record, i would certainly get my tubes tied if i could. however, first of all, a woman has to be 23 or 24 to get the procedure (im 22). secondly, most doctors will not do the procedure on a woman who isnt either middle aged, or has already had several children. dont believe me? turn into a woman and go try to have it done. trust me. do some research on this one. most doctors spew out the same bullshit "well, you might change your mind someday!" and why the hell are you bringing up a hysterectomy? i dont have uterine cancer. for fucks sake.. read a medical dictionary, learn common sterilization techniques, and then come back to this thread.

luckily, ive met a boyfriend who, like i said, has the same opinion as me. IF, in the future, he wants kids, he will adopt. there are plenty of other children out there.

now, malek, if you choose to quote me again or attempt to flame me, kindly READ what i am saying first, pull your head out of your ass, and dont assume things that arent true. thanks.
