Originally posted by lcid who will satisfy my urge for epic piano lines, uplifting strings, chunky basslines, diva vocals, and funky feel-good melodies? i don't dislike techno, but it's all i ever hear these days... and all my favorite DJs who used to play the funky stuff seem to be hopping on the techno train. am i just living in the past and holding onto a genre that's no longer "cool" or in style, or are there actually DJs out there who are still playing the funky stuff? i've been listening to so much 2006-era Luke Fair and Desyn Masiello lately and i'm just dying to hear anything like that in a club again. |

Not really one to plug myself too much, but give a listen to the nu-disco mix in my sig... think it came out fairly decently, even though I don't have much experience in mixing the genre.
For 2 months no posts, but here's a little kick;

thnx 2 wowsa
I haven't been much into the nu-disco, funky music lately. It's been a while since I listened to anything by Tensnake, the Revenge, Shur-I-Kan, etcetera.
I should, though. Gonna look for some sets first thing this weekend. See if it still gets my feet tapping and my head bobbing.

Enjoyed some sets of his that I listened to many months ago. Looked him up, apparently tonight is his debut here in Holland. Too bad I'm already doing something tonight. Perhaps tomorrow, as he'll be playing again in NL
So, to kick this gorgeous-but-dying-out thread a little up, some great news received me the other day; the 6th Borough Project relased their first album!!
Sounds great, and I'm definitely gonna purchase that 3LP version
Furthermore, one nice gem I just came to get an ID on, played out a lot by the Godfather of House, mr. Frankie Knuckles;
sich a nice piano riff + vocals ...
