I'm sure we will hear faithless but i doubt it will be anywhere near the beginning of the set. Gaia is a pretty boring opener. James Horner = blah.

I hope he doesnt let the energy drop considering he is the last DJ and it ends early this year

Agreed, thats exactly what happened with PVD last year when he closed. Although I'm not a Guetta fan by any means, his set sure did have a lot of energy and the crowd was way into it, all that went away when PVD came on..or the drugs just starting wearing off.

Armin's new single, 'full focus'...doesn't sound like the vocal/sappy you expect.

i like it, hopefully he'll play it at EDC.

What is allowed through the gates?

Since there are no In's & Out's what will they allow you to bring inside.

Can you bring a backpack
Can you bring a fanny pack
Any type of pack at all?

Do they do full body pat-downs
Do they make you empty your pockets
Should one be concerned about others with lethal weapons?

Are the policy/security staff 420 friendly like they are @ San Francisco functions?

Thank you in advances...and sorry for all the n00b questions as this will by our first MASSIVE of this type.

I believe small backpack/fannypacks are ok.

They do full body pat downs, but some security guards are less intrusive than others. They do make you empty your pockets. They do a pretty good pat down so i don't think anybody can bring lethal weapons in. i dont think they are 420 friendly, but you can smell weed all over the place. Best place is to wear briefs and hide it in there i guess.

Wow, you're right, more like what I'd expect from the "Gaia" name. It's pretty good!

On that note, "Aisha" is wonderful, but doesn't seem like it'd be a good opener. This Full Focus song sounds like it could be worked into an intro mix pretty easily, though.

Honestly, the intro mix of Arnej's "The Strings That Bind Us" from ASOT 450 is going to be pretty hard to top. That song was an EPIC way to start a set!

Looking at the set times I am totally torn - Sat only. First timer, so I want to be in the Coliseum. But as I see it:

Lawrence vs. Benassi
Fleming vs. A&B
Patterson vs. Armin

I wish the Neon Garden DJ's (first listed) were on the mainstage. Is it worth it to stick to the Coliseum? I'll enjoy the music regardless - But J00F I feel like I have to see.

Posted by Apeattack on Jun-24-2010 03:54:

Henry, when the Coliseum floor has reached capacity will access to the entire Coliseum be closed off or just to the floor?

In past Insomniac events I have had a full spectrum of patdowns, from barely anything to borderline proctologist. But you have a lot places you can hide goodies and get away with it.

Posted by jimji1005 on Jun-24-2010 04:00:

Last year entrance to the floor of col was closed. But from the side entrance you could still get into the bleechers I remember. But just like sports arena, they will shutdown the floor when it reaches capacity, which Sat it most likely will around 9pm or so.

Posted by Apeattack on Jun-24-2010 04:02:

Am I reading the map correctly? There will be 4 entrances this year?

Posted by first in space on Jun-24-2010 04:04:

anyone know what is the earliest you can pick up will call tickets at avalon? definately interested in goin to see the madman that is lee burridge after edc... but no way i'm leaving early to get there

I remember there was one security guard that demanded people to take off their shoes. very annoying. good luck you guys

Not sure if this has been answered, but, why the early end time on Saturday? I went last year and it went 'till 4 Saturday and 2 on Friday. Why the early ass times?

He did that here in Seattle.. and all of these tracks are getting old. I would expect newer stuff.

They are trying to make more money with the "official after party" for EDC at Music Box. Afrojack and Chuckie on Friday, and Benny Benassi on Saturday.

Arnej's "The Strings That Bind Us is definitely an AMAZING intro song...one can hope!

It's ending at 2 because of the new curfew in Los Angeles

Posted by system-7 on Jun-24-2010 07:24:

explain this.. someone said MM 2010 ended at 4am?

also, I would put money that Simon Patterson will play a better set than Armin, he has alot to prove. If not, GE will destroy the trance stage. Many tend to get all wet about the coliseum. Honestly, I'm not down for the cluster F***. Yeah yeah you might get on some promo add for EDC 2011, or whatever you like.. can you even dance on the main floor? heck you can't even dance on the bleachers.
