It is true you do get what you pay for. In the case of the DJX700 you can certainly do alot better with the same amount of money.
Oh please.
Behringer DJX-700 == Lada
Allen&Heath Xone 92 == Rolls Royce

AHAHA come on guys... someone should start (another?) behringer bashing thread. We gotta keep this one strictly for the setup pics
While we're still on the track of comparing our DJ setups to automobiles....
My setup is like my 88 Lincoln Town Car with 100 spoke chrome rims... straight pimpin...
...Then you get inside and realize lock works but unlock doesnt, the rear windows won't go down, the front ones get stuck, the fender rubs up against the tire every left turn you make, the tailpipe throws sparks every bump you run over, the suspension on the right side is shot causing a nasty "gangsta" lean to the right, but goddamn I'm going deaf from these fuckin subs!
haha classic white trash mobile. Thank god I can't afford the insurance anymore. I'll just stick to my tables.
damn i was looking through some of the photos, you guys have some sweet setups....

NMCOG that a nice setup man for real
got some stuff, love it or hate it, its mine. i finally got it after a few long weeks. it is as follows:
~Behringer DJX-700 (Call it a copy of the Pioneer DJM-500, I don't care)
~2 x Numark TT-200 Direct Drives (Nice Tables, Technics Shmeckmics, these have a nice feel and at AUD$1000 i'd expect so)
~2 x Stanton Discmaster II Carts (What more can I say)
~Pioneer XC-IS21T Stereo (the blue thing)
~[HUN]Raptor (my comp, i live in aus with a hungarian prefix )
~Denon DCD-1300 CD Player (The first ever CD Player, no joke, it works)
pics below:
the whole setup
Behringer Glory
Another shot

Discmaster II in action
i can give more, but that will do
Hey bro I don't think you're supposed to use those carts with a str8 arm tonearm, they're designed to be used with S-shaped tone arms!
You can use those style of carts on a straight tone arm as long as it has a spherical stylus. Elliptical ones might not work the best on a straight tone arm but they do work.

Originally posted by Rememberence_ Bad analogy imo. Toyota make some of the most reliable and quality cars available. I would liken my allen & heath xone:32 to a toyota because I bought it for its top quality sound, whereas I'd liken a xone:92 to a BMW because it's got all the features AND the quality. I'd liken a behringer to a 1950's buick that won't start cos it's pure shit. |

Originally posted by Dervish So's that a bad analogy if you were gonna be anal about it... when you buy a BMW it comes with nothing no features everythings an extra, e.g. alloys CD player. Besides if people want a Berhinger they can buy emm. Just understand it's not going to last as long probebly. The sound quality isn't going to be there either. However unless your going to be mastering a CD for major production the 7dB differnce in SNR between a Xone 32 and DJX700 isn't going to be an issue. In your little bedroom. I recon build quality is possibly though. But calling other peoples eqipment shit just cos you spent £700 or whatever one your mixer is pretty shitty to be honest. It's a perfectly good mixer. Rember a mixer is a tool nothing else. Some people can't afford all the tunes they want and a mint mixer. If it's between getting the tunes you want and getting a mixer with better stats I say get tunes. |
