you're just posting random songs at this point. just because all those track use the same "lazy distorted bass" don't make them sound alike

Vocal progressions:

Chord progressions:

it might be a reach but the riff sounds similar...

Posted by Mattsanity on Apr-08-2020 18:54:

cafe del mar (three n one remix) and Fire & Ice - What You Are For Me. Im stunned...

Posted by pkcRAISTLIN on Apr-09-2020 08:39:

i googled this when i first heard it and apparently the internet disagrees with me. but seems pretty fucking blatant, right? i realise it's not a note-for-note rip, but the first and last thirds of the hook are pretty damned close?

1998 was influential in dance music no doubt.

I initially thought it was Xpander when I heard it in a live footage video.

Posted by Midlothian on Jun-11-2020 20:00:

Yeah, sounds like it sought its "inspiration" from Xpander. Not just the main synth lead but the way it's structured, too. Although if they did they didn't quite succeed in emulating its production quality in terms of sound design and mixing/mastering. Doesn't quite pack a punch this one.

You can tell they both definitely tried.
This one did not get away itself....

Funnily enough i thought the B-side was a remix to Xpander, about as much as Lolo - "Why?" was anyway but the track you posted was almost a direct rip

Posted by Mattsanity on Jun-12-2020 23:19:

Wow. I remember 2004 had a lot of remakes of older classics so what can I say about those tracks

Posted by Trance-M on Jun-14-2020 18:58:

I didn't check if they already have been posted:

Posted by djthunderbird on Jun-14-2020 19:23:

is IMHO a different vocal-stripped down version of this:

Posted by djthunderbird on Jul-04-2020 19:25:

Listening to the 1995 Essential Mix by Nick Warren, I discovered a very rare and nice little breakbeat tune called Mondo Scoro - Algorithm.

Psychotropics SubstancesMondo Score - Algorithm

I think that Tiesto Flight 643 sampled this quite heavily.
Judge for yourself:

Jam & Spoon Stella and Solace - Hold Me Now/Bright Side

Both Solace tracks are similar to 'Stella' but 'Bright Side' is pretty obvious.

Posted by Mattsanity on Aug-17-2020 22:53:

Playing devils advocate, I actually like that Solace record even if they're ripoffs.

Posted by Mattsanity on Dec-17-2020 22:55:

I don't mean to find these tracks on purpose but yeah, another track that seems to draw from Xpander.

This was a dope find. Both tracks are good imo.

Rude

Posted by djthunderbird on Jan-13-2021 18:15:

It might be that Nic Fanciully nicked the chord progression on his latest remix from this one:

Its a decent vocal house number, but it has nothing on the tensnake trancemann remix
