Wow, can't say anything bad about the level of production. Every stage was amazing with high quality sound & visuals. Lots of sculptures, games, rides, & 3 dollar waters. Also nice to have multiple entrances, which made it very easy to get in, and very casual security at the gate (looking for large weapons only).
The bad: the coliseum closed off before 8pm. Horrible because if you had to take a piss, then you had to leave with no chance of getting back in. Also the music stopped for prolonged periods of time between the dj sets which was lame. On top of that, I thought the music in the coliseum all night was mediocre at best. Actually, on second thought, SHM played a pretty cool set.
Claude von Stroke played really well, but there was sound issues towards the end of the night, and a complete failure near closing time.
+1 on the VIP.
deadmau5 was by far the worst act the whole night. probably year. edc's production was way better than his stupid setup and his boring mixing. no hype at all. everytime he would build a song up and i think a tight part would come, it was just be a tease
My friends need tix for today, please txt me at 9494844837
Can you buy tickets at the door?? It's my first time there so total n00b question

pics thanks to the Sirius Crew! They have been taken during Armin's set..

Went Friday only. Amazing production as far as the lighting/visuals/sound go.
I made it down to the floor of the coliseum by 6pm and i was surprised to turn around and see the amount of people coming down that ramp. They stopped letting people down there around 7:30ish, which sucked because my friends including Bscarbro just arrived and couldnt get down there. I just decided to stay down there till i had to use the restroom since I knew I wasn't getting back down there.
Best set of the night for me was Swedish House Mafia. OMG that set was epic and some of those transitions between tracks blew me away!
Worst set easily was Deadmau5's. I didn't attend Coachella, but I heard the tracklist was virtually the same and mixed in the same order as well. I was pretty bored after Moar Ghosts n Stuff and ended up leaving by 1:30. His cube setup was pretty sweet, although I was a bit disappointed they didn't use the rest of the visuals, like the LED wall, during his set.
I still can't believe how packed it got in there... especially during deadmau5's set. I held back from buying a 2 day ticket and decided to see how Friday was before making a decision for Sat... glad I did so after reading about the main floor being closed at 6pm, the fence jumpers, music stoppage, and Lil Jon MC'ing thru several sets.
I arrived ~7:30pm and had no problem getting in through the north entrance. I heard the south entrance was more hectic.
Insomniac has done one hell of a job growing this event. My first EDC was 2008 and it was nothing compared to Saturday night. I heard from a friend that access to the ground level was cut off by 4:30pm! When I walked into the Coliseum around 7:30-8pm, it was FULL of people on the Coliseum floor and in the bleachers! In 2008, when EDC was still a one day event, I could go in and out of the Coliseum floor all night.
The production in the Coliseum was awesome, but I think I could not fully appreciate it being in the bleachers. Fireworks were plentiful.
$3 waters were nice. I'm very surprised that Insomniac lowered the price of water (at EDC 2009 there was one $3 water booth, but it was higher elsewhere).
pretty incredible night...they had blocked off the main entrance before you even go to groove tickets/will call/the main entrance path...so that definitely cut the lines once you reached that, but i was a huge cluster*uck prior to that...
when we got in at 5, we 'thought' we'd have time to look around and enter the main area at around 7..boy were we wrong.
i believe the coliseum was closed at 5...while in the stands there was a huge bum rush during william's set...it got pretty crazy when the people from the floor started throwing water bottles and cups...it nearly hit the cops a few times.
since the floor was closed, this allowed me to check our emergy which was definitely a blessing in disguise. he delivered a very hard and energetic stage..just wish the neon garden wasn't the 'bastard' stage as it lacked the productions of circuit grounds. i also checked out CL for a little after, never heard him, definitely a fun set to listen to.
after that we made way to the bleachers to check out above & beyond and armin. this was the first time seeing above and beyond, and honestly, their set seemed a little weird to me..it was too floaty and didn't really have that deep/progressive feel...is this how they normally are?
armin played an EXCELLENT set. this was my 4th time seeing him, and asides from a chain of vocals he played in the middle of his set, he had a lot of new tunes (mostly from his new album) and didn't really overdo it with the vocals...but i was definitely surprised. i really enjoyed tiestos remix of the new faithless track..and i don't care what anybody says but the break in broken tonight is amazing..very energetic and bangin'.
i think insomniac did a good job with the event, but im beginning to feel that its out-growing the coliseum...what's next, EDC in a desert like coachella to avoid space issues?..or maybe move the main acts to the parking lot so you're not confined? don't know, but these massives are definitely growing!
oh yaa, took us 1hr 15 min to get out of usc parking lot..was an absolute mess.
Saturday was fun. But during the time that WILLIAM came on, it was just bad music everywhere(to me). No where to hide.
Finally LBL came to the rescue, with little wayne. And boy I thought lil wayne was annoying. Then came the black eye pea x2 as annoying. Why would you have MC during in the middle of songs. It was the black eye pea right? Couldn't really enjoy Benny because of it. Even thou I was all the way in the front of the stage already.
Went back up to the VIP after A&B came up. Got really tired around 1 so i bailed. Still recovering from jetlag i guess.
Overall yes I would go to EDC again and VIP was worth it.
as horrible as will.i.am was, A LOT of people were cheering for 'em...i guess it shows the demographic of rave atendees loll.
ahhh!!! good times! what a fucking experience... easily the largest crowd i've ever performed to in my short career so far. ( i think my previous record was Creamfeilds in Argentina.... but EDC completely blew that away.
thanks to every single person that attended this event and granted me the privilege and honor to be a part of it, even if the fire marshalls were pullin on my leg at the end there
if anyone has haters, it's me... and BELIEVE ME on this one...theres not a single thing anyones gunna say that's going to override the feeling you get when you hop on stage in front of 100k+ smilling faces.
once again, thanks LA for hosting me! ...and all those who were a part of this amazing event!

did anyone see that one guy getting chased around neon gardens during tyas or filas set?
226 on-site medical emergencies and transported 114 persons to area hospitals.
Morons.
Also, 185k reported in attendance - WOW. Now that is a sold out show - and they even limited the floor to 70 percent.

On Friday I saw three guys jump the fence by the ferris wheel around 5pm... two of them made it, but the third got taken down hard after he tried to run for it. People were cheering, he was running fast, but there was too many security guys to juke. He got tackled big time.
There were two fences between bleachers and Coliseum floor, with about 15 feet of a no-mans-land in between.
To me, the funniest moment of the night was around 8pm in the Coliseum when LBL's set was interrupted (poor LBL) to make the announcement that people should stop jumping the fences. The crowd started booing the fence jumpers. One girl was able to climb the first fence into no-mans-land but was not able to climb back out of no-mans-land to either the Coliseum floor or back to the bleachers. Eventually, she was the only one left in that area and many thousands of upset eyes were focused squarely on this one person. At the moment I found it hilarious that this one dumbass couldn't muster the strength to hop one more fence when it mattered most.

EDC, the good, bad and the ugly (in reverse order to end things off on a good note):
Ugly

I'll start with the lowlights:
- The vodka sucked ass. I couldn't drink it anymore. Thank god for Dos Equis. Yesterday morning I had the worse hangover watching the USA game thanks to that cheap shit. I made sure to stay away from it last night and definitely felt much better today
- The security was ridiculous, 3 fucken people searching the entire VIP at the entrance? Seriously, there should be 4 VIP entrances and 1 GA, I could care less if those kids don't get in, they're too busy rolling to care anyways. Friday was easier to get in, but yesterday was a nightmare. And then I get my socks searched and was asked to take off my belt. The guy almost didn't let me bring in my earplugs. He made me take them off so he can search them and nearly threw them away before I bullshitted and told him they're prescriptions
- Having to walk around the Drum n bass stage to get to circuitGrounds. I actually didn't mind as I got my Jungle on, but having a moderate size group makes it alot harder. It was way better last year when the Drum N Bass was a little bit more north of the Sports Arena and having all that room to easily get around.
- The kandi kids are getting more ignorant by the year. How the hell do you not know who Armin van Buuren is? And can't people go dressed like normal human beings, I'm embarassed for our scene everytime I go to one of these events and see how people waste their time trying to look that stupid.
- Seriously, the whole gate rushing thing is getting old. Just put high voltage electric fences and nobody jumps it, or put barbed wire.
- Deadmau5 was a freakin joke. His sets get worse and worse each time I've seen him. Thank god for Claude von Stroke closing, that was my saving grace
- 8 to 12 dollar food, for fucks sake, I wouldn't mind if the burgers and food was a decent serving size like last year, but I swear I ate the first burger in 4 bites.
- Whoever earlier in this thread said that cellphone reception was good, you're an idiot. I told you it was horrible, everyone who had every different company was complaining that there was no reception.
- Lil fucken Jon, holy shit, biggest joke of the night. Oh wait, no, I heard Will.I.Am was. I was smart enough to stay at Neon Garden for Emery's set and Groove Armada's at circuitGrounds
The Highlights:
- Armin, Above and Beyond, Gareth, Groove Armada, Second Sun, Avicii, Trent Cantrelle, Donald Glaude, Moby, Swedish House Mafia and Claude von Stroke were excellent. They all brought their A games and definitely had amazing sets. I found some sets on Alldj.org
- Glad to see VIP was much better than TAO. Way more people serving, and I made sure to tip them and let them know how good of a job they were doing because they were really hustling to serve everyone efficiently.
-I raped the open bar. I mean I had maybe 60 beers in two days and 40 waters. I laughed at the fact they wanted to implement a 7 drink limit, I had my 7th beer 25 minutes into Friday and maybe 30 mins into Saturday. I was giving away waters to people who didnt have VIP just to stick it to Insomniac.
- Production was stellar. You could tell they really spent time on it and I'll definitely give credit where its due. I really loved the flame throwers going off with the beat of the music.
- Got to see alot of familiar faces in random places, never hurts bumping into random people, especially considering the size of the event.
- Avicii is extremely talented, one day he'll be up there as one of the world's best.
- Armin playing his mashup On and Off Love was insane, the crowd was really into it. Glad I found his set on Alldj.org. Im going to have it on repeat all week
Overall, unless there is a really good lineup, Im going to pass on any more massives. I can't handle the fact that we get treated like shit by security and the fucken crowd is just so stupid. Thank god for clubs
