Just a quick one to let you know that if PvD plays everywhere in Europe like he did the other night at cream (best night of ttrance i have ever experienced, and guiseppee played live also) in Ibiza then its pretty much gurenteed that he will go back to back in my book. when someoneset opens with for and angel and the closes with saltwater your onto a pretty bloody good thing

just saying hey

well i have finally had a second to write about Armada Closing Party and to be honest i was disappointed with Armin.

Not only did i think his set was too hard and boring but because he didnt show to the pre-party at kanya when it was advertised as armin van buuren closing pre-party at kanya maybe i missread it but jeez im sure anyone cud b fooled then and ppl who showed up i think were disappointed too. i heard he only went to 2 pre-parties this yr. owell wuda been nice if he could have made the effort on the last armada night for the year

on the bright side Markus Schulz was amazing! couldnt be more impressed with this guy... he played an awesome set.

maybe my expectations were too high this time for ibiza but overall wasnt very impressed. now off to croatia for 3 weeks!

ENJOY CROATIA....you won't be disappointed although seeing as summer is over, not sure what big parties are happening down the coast...
If you're going to be in the capital, Zagreb, check out The Best and Boogaloo. Techno and house are huge there.

Agreed, Armada closing party was tripe, the armada night is not the greatest night on the island. However the the pvd run Cream is in a league of its own, went to 3 of them including the closing party and all i can say is.....absolutely fucking amazing (except the oakey set i had to endure)

first time seeing pvd and now i've seen twice and they are both the two best sets i heard and the set halliwell played at the closing party before pvd was nothing short of brilliant, and boy do the europeans love him to death. Chants of Eddie Eddie Eddie were happening all over the place....

The crowd even started chanting before oakey had finished and eddie was just putting his records down behind the decks

on a side note IBIZA ROCKS

Theres no homeless shelters either. I just dont want to pay 25 euro a night for a fucking 12 bed dorm.

I my friend in Vancouver worked at the flying pig in Amsterdam!!
He tells me many stories, says it was an awesome place to work. We both work at a hostel in Vancouver, called the Cambie... fucking dodgyiest hostel EVAR!!... but fucking FUN!!!

and hey, playing 25 euro a night for a 12 bed dorm is better than being homeless anyday bud! This is why lots homeless people don't get my sympathy but there's mostly always a choice. I'm sure if you worked there, they'd still give you some kinda deal. They're usually pretty good about it... I know we are

Thats funny because when I was there in late July, Kanya advertised the same thing stating he would be there, but no armin was to be seen, but Markus was there and played a crankin set, but on the actual night armin was playing all weird stuff and markus didn't play as good as his pre-party... but I'm not over Ibiza hehe I must go back!
Cream ripped armada night.

Ah good old hometown of Split (and Hvar too)

It's a shame there's no Trance scene in Croatia. I might have to do something about that in a few years.

I wish I was back in Europe

And Armin Only would rock!

Ti si Hrvat isto??

I'm glad trance isn't huge in Cro. lol
It's techno and house all the way there!

Posted by Fledz on Oct-25-2006 03:05:

Da, ja sam Hrvat

Haha speak for yourself. As MissyM said, diversity is good but I'm a trance nut so preferably that would be #1

Quoted for truth.

I listen to other things as variety is definitely good, but melodic trance is the pinnacle
