well you're obviously more skilled in woodworking than i am, so it's gonna take me a lot longer to build mine........

maple with cherry, sounds like a nice flavor for pancakes........lol

maple is pretty expensive i've heard, but that combination will definetly have eyes gawking for a while...

Posted by Vlad on Jun-21-2004 19:56:

What you dont see in that pic is the CDJ mounts because its hard to draw it in there, it will be similar to how Dewi has it. That table is devised specifically to hide all wires.

Maple isnt too expensive, my dad gets everything wholesale. BTW the entire table wont be maple... only the parts you see are - the rest is plywood.

here is the table i made. It has no recession for the turntables and mixer, but its awesome nonetheless, and is sturdy enough to survive an atomic blast

Dewi - I'm looking for some speaker stands like those for my Alesis monitors, where did you get them and were they hard to find? How did you mount them, with a studfinder and then wood screws into the wooden framework behind the sheetrock?

Posted by r5a on Jun-22-2004 10:59:

Damn you guys have tits setups! I wish I had that kind of cash

hey mate, i have these for the speaker brackets. to mount them you just drill 3 holes for each bracket into the wall and screw them in, they are absolutley solid!

you can get them here....

http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/s...productId=89502

That's a UK based store though, but im pretty sure you could find them allover if you have a look around.

was looking for the exact same stands. thanks for the link.'
but how do you mount on the monitors ? - you don't have to drill holes in them as well i guess?

Not at all...

You basically set the 2 side bars so they are tight on the speakers. there is then 2 screws on the underside that screw up to hold them very tight in place, it holds them in very solid, there is no chance of them moving. they come with these funky little double sided sticky pads for extra safety though, there quite good as if you ever need to take the speakers off the tape is plastic and peels off the speakers in one go. there is also screw holes and tiny screws if you did want to screw them into bottom of the speakers but i wuddent recommend it, its fine without them.

Here's an old pic of mine:

It's alright I guess, I got a Kaoss Pad 2 recently, no pics yet. Next items are Virus C, Alesis QS8.2, and M-Audio FireWire 410. Can't wait for those items.

Thanks Dewi I'm trying to figure out who they are made by so maybe I could buy them in the states... any idea? Or are they actually made by Argos themselves?

Thnx.

Works great.

Updated.
Now I need 2nd GFX card for all 3 monitors to work at same time

Posted by Superscope on Jun-26-2004 22:37:

Cog mate thats almost the same setup as mine.

I have:

2x technics 1210 m3ds
1x pioneer djm 600
2x alesis m1 active mk2 speakers.

The problem is at the moment i have no space to set it all up, the stuff is just lying covered up in my spare room!

I bought the m1's and used em for like a day then packaged em back up again. I want to build a nice little studio setup after i get back from my summer hols in cyprus!

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jun-26-2004 23:19:

nmcog - how about your speaker stands? I have a pair of Alesis M1 Active MK2s aswell, and stands like that are exactly what I'm looking for. I really would rather have stands than wall mounts... how are they mounted to the table and what did they cost?

My speaker stands: http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/.../Product_ID/168

They are easy to get hold of, check http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q...=Search&as_qdr=

Posted by Rememberence_ on Jun-27-2004 03:19:

Cheers mate. So how have you got them set up? I take it you just sit your monitors on top of the stands, but are the stands themselves screwed to the desk or anythin?

Nope, I simply just put them on the table like the Alesis monitors on the stands.

The stands are designed to be put on the floor (hence they come with spikes to pierce the carpet but I didn't use them).
