2 games against boston, mussina sitting the bench this week, holding onto a playoff spot

Not a bad beginning to the week.

since my other picture doesn't seem to work, the faces say it all:

Hopefully manny is out long enough to provide for a nice little regression for the sox.

What a fucking messy game..I think the umpires and the teams need to sit down and get on the same page..Seems like no one is clear on the rules..

the league needs to crack down on umpires throwing players out of the game. It's getting ridiculous!

Good Job Ian Kennedy!!!

It looks like the yankees are going to have a solid rotation for a long time. We have four starting pitchers 27 or younger.

I didnt know who this kid was, I checked out his stats in the minors and he did a nice job there...

He threw a solid game against TB and I think he deserves another start in place of Mussina. September is all about winning, and Moose is not doing it.

Im beginning to get really giddy over the potential starting rotation of Wang, Hughes, Chamberlain, Petitte (He looks like hes got atleast 2 more years left, and they should be in pinstripes) & (potentially) Kennedy. I wouldnt be completely against Clemens coming back either, I dont think there are better mentors for our young pitchers than Petitte and Clemens.

Further more we do still have Tyler Clippard and Matt DeSalvo who have bailed us out of a few games this year also, they may not be top tier pitchers, but we do have reserves if need be.

Check out these ages:
Ian Kennedy - 22
Philip Hughes - 21
Joba Chamberlin - 21
wang - 27

Humberto Sanchez is also supposed to be really good. He's 24, but had tommy john surgery, which means he'll throw harder when he gets back.

He will throw harder, but will his control be there?

Francisco Liriano is coming back from Tommy John also... could he possibly throw any harder than he did when he struck out like 160 in 120IPs in his rookie campaign? Oh yea, not to forget his 2.20 ERA and 1.00 WHIP

Wow....Clay Buchholz is the real deal....Ben, i bet your creaming over this dude!

what did they do....i wanted to watch the game but unfortunately i don't get it.

on a side note, i like pedroia, he plays the game the way you're supposed to, he's a gritty kid.

CONGRATS to buchholz!!!!! AMAZING STUFF. i posted that last post in the 6th inning. No hitter in his second start, simply amazing!!!!

Looks like both Boston and the Yankees are doing thing the correct way now. Bringing up young kids with solid stuff. This is going to be an even better rivalry in the next ten years.

Yankees:
Chamberlin, Hughes, Kennedy, Cano, Wang, Cabrera....

Boston:
Pedroia, Buchholz, lester (give him some time, he's still young & they brought him up too soon), Okajima, Dice-K (not really the right way, but he's young), Papelbon...

Both teams are setting themselves up for great futures.

i know about the game, but why hats off to pedroia and crisp. Crisp didn't seem to have a particularly magical game given his numbers, and pedroia only had two singles.

Sorry James I should have explained...Check out the vids...Crisp was exeptonal in centre field..Pedroia made the most spectacular play at second base that I have ever seen...

Oh, you know how i love solid fielding. Crisp is an excellent CF'er. It's a shame he's been shit at the plate. Well, actually it's a good thing for us yankees fans.

As for pedroia, i already wrote how i feel about that kid.

I'll watch that clip now.

EDIT: the site doesn't have that clip. I guess after gay ass football is off ESPN I can see the highlights

That's weird,,I saw it on there ten minutes ago and now they've replaced it with Buckholz's interview....

Just saw the clip...nice stop. I wouldn't say the best play, but definitely a 9/10. It was even more impressive because of the situation. I have yet to see crisps play.

I just watched a synopsis of the game, phenominal stuff from this kid. His curve ball is SICK!!!!! It's 12-6 and drops about two feet. I'm happy for the kid, just another dimension to this rivalry.

It's a shame (for sox fans) the sox got rid of hanley. You guys would be absoutely sick with him on your team. Lugo is such a hole in your lineup. Plus the sox may not need beckett in a few years with some of the talent coming up the pipe. What do you think Ben?
