I dont need to do mass hard drugs to have a good time. Sticking shit up my nose or droppin pills or smoking shit out of a glass tube isnt my idea of fun. Being stuck inside a dark hotel room not wanting to be around other people, philosophizing about bullshit, jonzin for another hit once the last one runs out isnt my idea of fun, doing downers to self induce a nap isnt cool to me. Laying awake starring at a cieling telling yourself over and over I need sleep go to bed isnt cool to me either, neither is that little voice talking back to me calling me an idiot for doing all these drugs. Being too fucked to move doesnt have its same appeal. Running to a secluded corner to do another bump isnt what its cracked up to be. Sweating, grinding my teeth and trying to bite my ear off looking like a retard isnt "the shit".
my point being is at some point in MY life that shit had to stop. I used to be in my early 20's lookin at ppl in their late 20's running around begging for another e or another hit and laugh at them. Im not gonna be that dude. So old man naww, i would consider myself a man manning up in life.
and im not dissing what others do or what you guys did. Fuck have fun be merry, to me its no biggie. I let people do as they please. I control my own actions and wether your fucked up or not on something I can still kick it with you depending how fucked you are. But some people go overboard with it. Like Rod knows how to handle his shit. so when he was like dude i think im gonna drop a pill i didnt care. When he wanted to do shrooms i said be merry have fun. I know rod on e is identical to rod sober, he can handle his shit and can keep his composure. others can't. Jennie kept her composure, I didnt even know she was high till she said id go for breakfast with you but i dont feel like being in public right this sec.

The festival fucking blew ass. I'm glad I didn't waste too much time there because the afterparties were way more fun.

I had a good time, reminded me of the long weekend party binges I would do 8 years ago minus actually doing any drugs (which was a miracle for me to abstain from). Agreed on the festival, it was fun but not spectacular. Hard to get into a DJ's set when it's only about an hour or so. That said I thought Loco Dice & Luciano played a proper rave set, the big Detroit techno guys did an awesome job on Monday night too. Resolut was the most fun I've had in a while, Old Miami was fun but I compltely missed Wolf + Lamb which is the primary reason I wanted to go Pezzner & Alex Piccone were awesome, I had no idea they were even going to be there. Damian and Jamie were ok, I just wish Damian would actually play something other than his k-hole spaced out music. It's fucking boring and it was really not what I wanted to hear. Jamie kept trying to take it somewhere housey and Damian would just go back to some track with no kick and a lot of bullshit noises until Jamie just said, "I'm done bye" Posted by Rodrico on May-27-2009 16:56:

my weekend was absolutely amazing. great to see so many TAs and to meet a lot of new ones. i wish we could have partied together more but it seems like i spent a lot of time just trying to keep my crew together and figure out where we were going and where other people were at.
the highlight of the weekend was definitely the Innervisions guys on the boat party. complete insanity and amazing music and those guys were just having so much fun up there despite the small crowd. it probably looked like the lamest party considering the room was huge and there were maybe 20-30 people on the dancefloor at max, but once that party started going i could not leave the front of the booth for the rest of the night.
i wish i could have made it to the festival again on Monday night, and i'm really pissed at myself for not making it to the Hot Natured party, but i was completely wrecked after Old Miami. there are no words to describe what happens there, lol.
