Girl.. I'm gonna say the truth.. It's been difficult and I am only taking Psychology and Eng102! Thankfully it's almost over *wooo*

actaully i cannot IMAGINE taking *any* lab sciences during the 6 wks -_- unless of course if getting an A wasnt of as much importance. do you know which professor is teaching ur lecture/lab section?

My Psychology and ENG 102 actually transferred over from my prev college, thank god. This spring im taking the last of my pre-clinicals: SCB 210 (Basic Chem for Allied Health students) and ENG 101 (not sure why this did not transfer from my prev college but all good cuz i doubt i had an A in it). and I need as many As as possible to even qualify for Nursing.

I actually need to call in/drop by school this wk to see the status of my Change of Major request -- into Nursing (im currently a Lib Arts/Allied Health general major). I had gone in last wk to get the form and transcript printout but the dept head was out on vacation! hopefully she is BACK this wk.

What are you taking in the Spring Lyss?

I know I got a B+ in Eng102 and I am pretty sure I got that A in Psychology.

what a corayzee 6 weeks but it's over.

Next semester I got.. Abnormal Psychology, Intro to Sociology, SCB203 and my Community Health class.. SCN195 or something.!

woot 3 week break \o/

edit - and the 2nd half of the spring semester I will only take 1 class. Developmental Psychology. Then I will hopefully start my OTA classes in the fall (L)

the only bad thing about Intro to Psy is the fact that you don't get in debth with a specific type of psychology.

It's like hey - here's a bunch of learning methods, a bunch of schools of thought.. and a bunch more shit!

Kinda can't wait to get into Abnormal... and developmental later on!

lol agreed! I was a psych major and I HATED psych 101. Soo boring. Only when you can go in depth and understand/apply these principals to problems that people have, is it worth while. Abnormal is crazyy. I remember some of the video's I watched in that class...

you are some therapist right?

I wanna work with people who have mental disabilities so I am kinda excited about taking all these.

My teacher who taught 101 was a developmental psych major. So I hope I get her again (atleast for developmental).

Did you major in a specific psych?

I'm so bored at work I have looked at the Rihanna picture like 10 times. I need the weekend to start asap!

I majored in psych with a concentration in sexuality (meaning I literally had to take every sexuality course out there to get that title....kind of like a minor but they called it a concentration....I took biology of sex, anatomy and physiology of sexuality, sociology of sex, health concentrating in sex, psychology of sexulity, history of sexuality, Sexuality and feminism, sexuality in the media....etc.....I cant remember then all!! lol!!)

I want to go back for my doctorate but not at this time with the economic climate and such. I have a good job and need to keep it atm!! LOL Plus my masters degree BURIED me in loans, so I wanna pay some off first

man Melly i still CANT BELIEVE u took classes in the 6 wks!!!! CONGRATS on finishing!!!! and congrats on those grades! that A will help, esp toward ur OTA i think most Allied Health Majors require that as a prereq

so no word yet on whether my change of major got approved. but its ok, they said i have till March 31 to apply for candidacy in the Nursing Major.

oh im taking SCC 210 (Chem for Allied Health majors) and ENG 101 at night, and wil either look for a job or volunteer at a hospital during the day. I SOOO need As in BOTH (hello 3.84 minimum as of last yr in all preclinicals to get into NURSING ) the A- in ENG 102 that i transferred over from UBuffalo may actually HURT my chances depending on the pool of applicants for the Fall 2009 class but i am HOPING it doesnt!!!

i registerd for SCB 204 during Spring Session 2, PROVIDED that I get into Nursing by May i will take it.

If not, im going to drop it before June.

good luck this upcoming semester BUT im SURE you will do FINE!~!! trust me, SCB 203 will be taking up at least 1/2 of ur time, esp if u want to get an A -- and depending on ur lecture/lab professor.

if u have an email address i can send u some good weblinks/self-tests/charts that helped me and my group on various lab practicals and also helped with understanding cetain topics. we would do those constantly as the semester progressed.

Lyss - wow!! You did all your pre clinicals already? I know Nursing and OTA have Psychology, Eng101 and SCB203 in common as a pre clinical. What was your 4th pre clinical??

I got a B transferred over from my Eng101 in Florida (and we don't do Plus' or Minus')... But I don't think OTA is as competitive as Nursing. 3.8 GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! They said *atleast* 3.7 when I started school. Guess it's getting more competitive! eesh.

I can't apply for candidacy till...... I dunno when. I guess asap so I can get into the program for the Fall!

ooh and I NEED to get an A in SCB 203. So it def will take up my time. I am already missing 1 class for WMC

well i did have a Bachelors Degree in business prior to this...i just didnt have any Science background. My Calculus 1 and 2 and several Liberal Arts transferred over with at least a B+ or better. Hence the Chem and English being the last of my preclinicals. not sure why i need to take ENG 101 again but i def welcome the opportunity to get an A

if u want to apply for candidacy for Fall 2009, then u need to plan for ur preclinicals to be completed by the end of Spring Semester 1. And you also need to register for it on eSims. There are codes for that. like i think Nursing is 4399 or something like that and the deadline is March 31. (not sure about OTA tho). i cant even do that for myself till im sure my Change of Major goes thru. Waiting.... Try going to the OTA dept and talk to the secretary or someone in the offices.

yeah that is crazy.

Tell me how SCB204 goes in the 6 week. I dunno if I will take that in the 6 week or wait till 12 weeks. Seems too difficult for 6 week.

I don't know how the fuk that is gonna work out. I have O'Kane, R. on Tues and Vincent, D. Wedesdays..

Is that how they do it? Who was your teacher??

No work for me today. I'm at home playing nurse. The hubby just had surgery. I'll be back at work tomorrow unfortunately :/

I would dress the part but I don't think he can handle it right now hahaha Besides, I'm already too tired from playing a neverevending game of fetch, why can't he make a list of demands instead of everytime I go sit down to do my own thing he forgets to tell me he needs something else.
