Well to my knowledge Mixmag doesn't sell here so there's no reason to be anal about it.

Actually I bought an issue of mixmag about 2 yrs ago.

And it doesn't matter whether mixmag is sold in canada or not, since internet is not restricted to certain country

Regarding the mixmag cd: The CD is considered free, and you cannot buy it separately. Since the CD itself is considered free, its ok to post. We ran into the same problem a while back in the tracklisting forum, and eventually the CD was allowed.

I wouldn't have allowed that.

Basically, if people really want to hear that CD - they have to buy the mag - regardless of whether the CD comes 'free' with the mag - it involves a purchase for acquisition - thus - having it up on here for distribution is a no-go.

Edit: Though if it were 2 months after publication I would just let it slide - since it wouldn't be readily available for purchase.

hmmm...since when is this rule in place? i myself have posted promo cds in the past because they come free with a magazine, the artist does not profit from the mix that he has put out so how is this going to affect mixmag or the artist? the reason for a cd release is because this is the cheapest way to distribute the mix for mixmag. Do you think if mixmag released a usb key with an mp3 set on it this would not be distributed online as well?
it's not like the cd is 5 bucks and the mag is 5 bucks, the magazine has a set price and the cd is free, mixmag is aware that its free so i don't see how it would affect anything..

i know this rule about posting sets from magazines because i downloaded one a while back and posted it and he messaged me on msn to remove it. this was years ago.
