Nevermind 3-1 win, that's much better. They looked very good for some decently long stretches there.

Everyone gives them shit for never getting far but they have a really good chance at shaking that reputation if they can pull this off. IMO, they just need to focus on one more win and after that, it will be a brand new series, winner take all.

I could care less what the outcome of the east will be. The Ducks are getting all the rest they can get.

Posted by CortexBomb on May-22-2003 02:24:

I have to say Ottawa are starting to restore my faith a bit...

Whether or not they'll be able to down the Ducks even if they make it to the finals is another problem entirely, allow me to join 30 million others and ask why they left Spezza off the roster for so long?

I'd like to see a Canadian team hoist the cup, but man, Anaheim is looking better and better with the small number of games they've played to date and the incredibly hot netminder....

Posted by zarathustra on May-22-2003 05:40:

I won't predict the final because the only certainty at this point is that the outcome will be a surprise (speaking from a pre-playoff point of view).

Good job Sens. It all comes down to one game, and they're playing it at home too. They've got all the momentum, the timing is just perfect for them, CARPE DIEM!!!

On a side note, what's this about Brodeur's wife wanting a divorce?

Posted by zarathustra on May-24-2003 01:41:

Sad FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was unfairly teased as the Sens won 2 straight only to lose at the last possible moment. I'll get over it but right now, I'm a little miffed as one of my favourite teams lost out. Now I'm forced to watch more boring hockey as the Devils are given another series. Games 6 and 7 were quite exciting because the Sens were all over the Devils for the most part. Once the Devils controlled the play however, it was utter shit and I found myself changing the channel.

Since the final will be a boring dump-fest, I'm hoping for a sweep... of the Devils of course because they are bastards.

Posted by knsv on May-24-2003 02:03:

Honestly i dont think up untill the last 3 sen-devils game were anything exciting. It was pretty boring up untill last couple games. but maybe cuz we go for more west coast teams.

finals should be fun, ducks vs devils

go DUCKS go!!!!

Posted by sebby on May-24-2003 03:24:

It had to go to Game 7!!! Oh well, Ducks vs. Devils. From a devensive standpoint, it should be very interesting. Of course I'm not expecting offense from either teams.

I got tickets to Game 4 with knsv. Should be great to experience a Stanley Cup game live. Definitely rooting for the Ducks on this one. One more thing! I hate that Langenbrunner fool and it would be a nightmare to see him lift the Cup.

GO DUCK GO!!!
BURN DEVILS BURN!!!

Posted by PhloTron on May-24-2003 04:32:

I thought the Sens could do it... Games 5, 6 and 7 were Great...And it is sad to see the team that got totally outplayed (in gm. 7) win. But I'm glad the Sens didn't give up in after going down 3-1 and made it good series...which is hard to say when Jersey is playing (grrr @ the trap).

At least I'll be one to say the Sens are not a soft Playoff team anymore...granted that doesn't help them win the cup this year...so maybe next year then. (Of course I've been saying "maybe next year" since the Jets/Yotes came to the NHL in 78)

And I never thought I'd say this ...but I'd like to see the Ducks in 4...LOL

I'll definitely be buying myself a Devils jersey this summer, I've wanted one for a long time and now it's gonna happen. My favorite team besides the hometown Penguins and they're in the finals. Can't wait for this series to start although I'll have to miss the first game because of my classes at night. Anyway this is a rough one to predict but I'm going to say New Jersey in 6. Giguere may be good, but so is Brodeur the most underrated goalie in the NHL (in my opinion) the past 7 years or so. Go Devils!!

I'm glad Roy decided to retire at this time. Why? So I can watch some GOOD highlights on TV rather than that Ducks/Devils crap.

LOL!!! Game 1 wasn't that bad at all. It was pretty entertaining to watch. Really! I can't believe Roy is retiring. One of the best goaltenders of all times. I hated him, but at the same time I respect him. May he always be remembered for his accomplishments.

Come on Ducks! Don't quit on me now. You can play better than this. At least win 1 game before game 4 so that I don't have to go to the game seeing you down 3-0. I do not want to see Langenbrunner lift the motherfriggin cup with me actually being there. I'd rather go to Hell!

Posted by Projekt4.o on May-30-2003 02:45:

come on Devils sweep those Kwaks away, cause i was hopin for a better finals then this, like Stars or somethin like that

Posted by Mark on May-30-2003 03:29:

lets go ducks! i want kariya to win a cup!

Posted by zarathustra on Jun-01-2003 04:53:

YESSSSSSSSSS! That Brodeur goal is the turning point in the series, a-la Cloutier vs. Detroit. It's just sooo perfect. Come on Ducks...

Posted by sebby on Jun-01-2003 09:10:

Yes!!! Ducks still alive! I even went to feed the ducks afterwards at a nearby pond. I can't believe I'll be at the game on Monday. It's nosebleeds, but what the hell....It's Stanley Cup Finals baby!!!!

Lets go Ducks!!!

Hehe! Ur damn right I'm lucky. Try waiting in line getting these tickets and finding out game 3 was sold out minutes after opening. I had to get three tickets each one in different sections for game 4. The guy behind me had to get game 6 tickets.

That's what happens when you live in Southern California and you got hunderds of ticketmaster locations around the area. Once, me and knsv wanted to get playoff tickets and the guy working behind the counter had no friggin' clue what to do, holding up everything. We barely got tickets. Knsv had to yell at the manager as if we were in a war zone. Geez! The things we do to get tickets.

Okay! I'm off to the game. I'm taking one for the tranceaddict team. Enjoy the game guys. LOL! Some of you won't. Go Ducks Go!!!

Posted by sebby on Jun-03-2003 21:16:

Oh yeah baby! Ducks won a great game! It was by far the best game between the two teams I have ever seen. Even though the score was 1-0, the scoring chances were great along with the checking. Great goaltending from both sides of the net. And to top it off, the Ducks won in OT from none other than veteran Steve Thomas.

Actually being there at the game made me feel like it was all a dream. It is something I will always cherish for the rest of my life. I can't imagine the pressure the players have on the ice. Win or lose, the Ducks have made alot of Anaheim and underdog fans happy.

Next game is on Thursday at NJ. The Ducks true test is being able to win on the road. It won't be easy but it's still possible.

Lets go Ducks!!!

Posted by zarathustra on Jun-03-2003 21:46:

Sweet, the Ducks are invincible again . They're going to win it for sure and we can all go back to that Brodeur goal as the cause...

I'm for sure going to get some tickets for that Edm vs. Mon game at Commonwealth Stadium!!! The Great One himself is also going to strap on the skates for an old-timers game there too. I'll finally be able to watch him play

Posted by sebby on Jun-04-2003 09:49:

I hear Edmonton's gonna make an outdoor ice hockey rink with a capacity of 60,000. Is this true?

Yes it is. The rink will be built inside Commonwealth Stadium (Built for the 1978 Commonwealth Games, with a capacity of 60217 probably more if they add seats around the rink). A ticket will let you be able to watch the Oilers vs. Habs game on Nov. 22 (86th Anniversary of the NHL) and in addition you'll be able to watch and old-timer's game featuring past Oiler and Habs greats (Gretzky, Lowe, Lafleur...). BE THERE!!!

On another note, I must admit, the Ducks/Devils series isn't all that bad. Especially now that you have both teams playing well. My faith is being restored ...slowly...

Posted by PhloTron on Jun-08-2003 02:47:

w00t...
Can't ask for anything better than a Game 7!

'spesh when it's 2 teams I didn't want/pick to win it

Go Ducks! i guess

Posted by knsv on Jun-08-2003 02:50:

Ducks will win game 7!!!

go ducks go!!!

wow amazing game today they got spanked in NJ on thurs but they came back today and spanked NJ

very nice

Go Ducks!!!!!

Posted by sebby on Jun-08-2003 04:24:

I absolutely loved the way the Ducks kicked NJ's ass. Thank you Scott Steven's for checking Kariya. You just woke him up from his slump.

Game 7 on Monday @ NJ. Almost everyone thinks NJ will win cuz they're playing at home and the odds favor them. But this is one game that the Ducks will fight hard til the end. May Giguere play his best hockey game of his life. I just hope there are no bad bounces for him like what happened in Game 5.

GO DUCKS GO!!!
BURN DEVILS BURN!!!
