2001
Ayu - M (Above and Beyond Typhoon Dub)
Still one of my all times faves to this day.
^_^
1998/1999
alice deejay - better off alone
zombie nation - kernkraft
I had Robert Miles - Children for a while but I never liked it too much... I guess it was a little slow for me. Then in Feb. 2002, I was on dtmpower.net downloading their video's and that's when it started for me. They edited songs into the vid's, and the first three I dl'd had...
Foggy - Come into My Dream
Tamara - Whenever You're Alone
PVD - For an Angel
and sadly.... Castles in the sky
I'm better now... I swear!
98/99
ATB - Fine Day
I remember i was into d&b when Dara started out but my first trance songs were BT - Mercury & Solace, Sasha - Xpander & Bedrock - Heaven Scent in the GU13 IBIZA and later i got Generation Trance 2000 and i fell in love with Armin - Comunication, and Signum Feat. Scott Mac - Coming on Strong.
Got into it with Escape by DJ Kaycee(i think), but became a true addict when I heard:
Andain - Into The Dawn (James Holden Remix)

| Originally posted by Eagle` It all begun with classics as Robert miles - children, Push - universal nation, Delerium - Silence. Had to be arround '99 when I heared those tunes for the first time, at least that's what a still remember from those days, been a while you know At that time I didn't even now what kind of music it was, but I really liked it. Furthermore I also got inspired by the energetic tracks of Darude, think is was arround 2000 or something when it came out and of course alice deejay in those days. Here in Belgium you had groups as Milc Inc. who also had a certain influence on me. But it really started with a event in Belgium called Yellow fever a couple of years ago, where I saw Svenson en Tisto spinning (was in 2001, if I remember well). That was the actual start of my love for this kind of music. More Years, clubs, events as antwerp is burning, brussels is burning, yellow fever,.....later, I'm kinda hocked to it Nowadays I have a huge respect for AvB: his producing, his djskillz, his ASOT show and the person he is. Really down-to-earth guy, met him in antwerp and I must say my respect for him has even increased. If I compare him to testo I must say the last one changed to much, tijs still has my respect for his skillz, but the person tisto changed bit in a negative way imo. Also Ferry is one of the better DJ/prod in the trance scene imo and of course our M.I.K.E. Also the Hard-trance scene is very interesting with the tunes of Flutlicht,S.H.O.K.K., dumonde and cosmic gate and many many more... I'm happy I discovered Trance because it's the only kind who provides me goose bumps and cold shivers |

Listening to a CD of Robert Miles in 1999.
I don't really remember, but it was probably
Sunbeam - Outside World (1995)
Have been listening too trance-like a long time, but only after i heard "Mauro Picotto - Like this like that" I was totaly stucked.. can still turn up the volume and scare the hell of my neighbours with that tune..
I think it was Robert Miles - Children that got me into electronic music around 96-97..
But it was Spoiled & Zigo - More & More from Tiesto's Energy 2000 set that really got me hooked

Must've been the following:
Sunbeam - Outside World
Dune - Hardcore Vibes
Ravers Nature - Take Off
Members Of Mayday - We Are Different
Dune - Million Miles
Robert Miles - Children
Not to mention all the supercool old computergames with dazzling electronic music: Fairlight intros on amiga, Futurecrew Demos, Pinball Dreams ingame music, Pinball Illusions ingame music, Gods ingame music and the list goes on...
Those wore the good ol days of 92' 93' when every floppy contained an adventure of piratey proportions.
I've uploaded an example of what triggered my fondness for trance.
Rename to .mod and do NOT open in WinAMP as it will simply sound very bad.
You'll need to download this player: Mod4Win to play this file.
Hello everyone! This is my first post...here it is. Great to be here with you.
I eased into the trance scene. There was one that I can remember that really locked me into it though:
Schiller - Das Glockenspiel [Humate Mix]
I heard it live w/Oakenfold and I said "Ok. I'm in!"
One of my friend's went to Magaluf (sp (IWSF)) with a few other people and I couldn't afford it, he came back with Rank 1 - Airwave on his MP3 player and I couldn't get enough of it. I listened to it a lot and I eventually heard Out Of The Blue and For An Angel, that was it, Trance was my thing.

PVD for an angel
Chicane - saltwater
and yes i must admit......
darude - sandstorm
Video game music in 1987. I recorded Nintendo game music and just listened to it. In the early 90s I tried to get my hands on "techno" that had electronic music & no words. ALOT of Sega Genesis (Megadrive) games have trancelike music in them. In 1994, I recorded a strange version of Two Tribes by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Living in the USA, Chicago house took the spotlight and there was hardly anything else available. The 1st big track that was popular was Children, which I liked, but no one else appreciated it.
In 1999, I was shocked
and overjoyed to see video game music had come full circle when I heard Xpander in a Wipeout XL commercial. From then on, I have listened to almost nothing but trance.
what finally got me into trance for real was:
DJ Tisto - Sparkles (Magikal Remake) - 99
children helped too...
