The Clergy = Judge Jules & Paul Masterton

Jules and Masterston also record as Hi-Gate, some of their tracks include Pitchin', Caned & Unable, I Can Hear Voices, You & Me, Gonna Work It Out, Saxuality and Hurricane.

Paul Masterton has also had sucess as Yomanda (such as Synths & Strings ). Other Masterton tracks include - Paul Masterton presents Sushi - The Earthshaker & Paul Masterton - Stars.

CJ Bolland has release a fair few more tracks than The Prophet , see here.

Dream Traveler - Time

There were only 1000-1500 copies of the record pressed to begin with.
(the first track on Oakenfold's Tranceport)

His real name is Joey Fehrenbach, apparently he has a couple other releases, one that was on GU 024. But I've never actually heard any other tune by him.

Actually you're a bit off mate. This guy is pretty far from what I'd consider a one hit wonder. He has a handful of tracks out right now on Fade and we can never keep them in stock. They fly off the shelf the day we get them.
You're right about the Global Underground. I did hear a track by him on the Nick Warren GU. It's not my favorite cut on the cd, but the vinyl for that track is seriously in high demand.
He's got another song out called Structure...HUGE HUGE club hit right now. Hernan Cattaneo played it in London and got a amazing crowd reaction from it.
He's also got a mix out on Hooj (can't remember what the track is called or if it's even officially out yet) that is going to be included on Sandra Collins "Perfecto Present" cd.
Sooo, I don't think he applies for the one hit wonder award.

Anyway, here's my nomimation for one hit wonder:

Li Kwan- Point Zero
Seriously one of the first epic prog tracks and then these guys disappeared.

The first name that comes to mind is Darude and his track Sandstorm.

According to Grim Reaper's database, one of the guys from Darude is part of the Modulation project (as in, Modulation - Spirits). Plus, Darude released other material (e.g., Darude - Music).

By the way, careful about using Darude's name in vain on this board.

How about...

Solicitous- Furthermost
Sauna- Mirage

Cheers,

Mark

Darude has released plenty of other stuff but none were anywhere near as successful as Sandstorm, so he is a pretty good example of a one hit wonder...

One of the guys from Darude? As far as I know, Darude is a one-man show; Ville Virtanen. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Besides, when a song so generic as Sandstorm becomes widespread, obviously there will be more than one release. But who's to say those songs are any good or ever popular? Music, as well as Feel the Beat, are very poor.

Posted by armandzadza on Sep-10-2003 04:08:

As I understand, Darude started with Ville Virtanen and Jaakko Salovaara, and Heikki Liimatainen joined them later.

BTW, believe it or not, but Darude - I Can Feel the Beat was huge on New York radiostations, which I find really sad...

Posted by Psygnosis on Sep-10-2003 04:16:

Mike Shiver - Feeling was a big one hit wonder...

Posted by Excite on Sep-10-2003 04:23:

wtf r u talking about? mike shiver barely just released feelings..

give him some time to release another single before you call him a one hit wonder!!

damned nice too...could stand to hear more from the.

hmmm.... weirdo - photic zone? He still releases tracks, but none of his other ones seem to have been very popular.

veit - sky
freon - heaven's gate
Furry Phreaks - Soothe
Imre Corte - Advance (though I heard a new song from him recently, dunno if it's too popular or not though)
Chac - 7 years
catch - walk on water
main x - 88 to the piano

I would say one hit wonders make up a good 1/3 or so of all track records played by a lot of top DJ's

Yes, that is true. Although Darude is "officially" just Ville, Jaakko & Heikki produce all his tunes and write some of them... so you could say Darude is the modern version of a boyband.

It's quite obvious too where the two "behind the scenes" guys have had their fingers on... just compare Darude's "Next to You" to Dallas Superstars' "Helium"...

Orkidea- Unity
Luis Paris- Incantation
Space manouverous- Stage one
Chiller twist- Strings united (shelley mix)
Free Radical - Surrell (only seen this song put out by him- steves brother that is)
Accessive rhythem- Activate
Clint fabian & Dj Rdkay- Panorama

I think there right but not 10000000000000000% sure. Please enlighten me if i am wrong

Posted by Solstice on Sep-10-2003 09:50:

spang, free radical did a few remix's in his time to. I believe he did a remix of Rapid Eye - Circa?

Posted by Spang on Sep-10-2003 10:17:

True, but he hasnt as far as i know made anymore songs under that name. So Free radical was a one hit wonder because he hasnt MADE any other tracks.

Thats how i read into this thread anyway.
