it is a myth that women like assholes. the only reason assholes/jerks etc. tend to score alot more than "nice" guys is that they have the law of averages going for them. when a woman turns down a typical "nice" guy, he will usually sulk abt it for weeks and do silly things like post abt it on internet forums like this one asking for an explanation from other guys who are just as clueless as he is.
the proverbial jerk, on the other hand, will just say "screw that bitch, i'll go find sum other slut to screw"...sooner or later sum woman will find him attractive and he will score.
in many ways women seek the same things as men do when looking for a partner: sum1 with a good sense of humor, confidence (ie, sum1 who doesn't have self-esteem issues), sensitive (but not excessively so), and so on.
the one difference that i do notice between the sexes is that many drop-dead gorgeous woman find a man who has power/fame simply irrestible, altho men are not as likely to consider these attributes in a woman enuff to justify sleeping with her.
here is a good salon article i read today that sheds light on the matter:

I've posted this before, but www.rooshlog.com and www.seductionbb.com are both run by a friend of mine who showed me the light. Check these out if you're a clueless guy.

Don't feel bad, dude. Women hate me too.
I used to be generally adored by all the girls in hs then I got sick of all the selfishness and immaturity so I said to myself, "Screw these bitches! I'll just wait til college!"
Well... I'm about to start my 2nd year of college now and I don't think anyone has looked at me twice...
sucks. maybe you shouldn't call us bitches?
I had expectations in college/uni but they were thrown out the window after 3rd year. I could've done stuff 1st and even 2nd year but was too much of an idiot to realize what was happening. Oh well. Shit happens. Now I just don't give a fuck.
I didn't mean ALL girls are bitches.
I meant the girls at my school (who were usually too worried about keeping up some stupid meaningless drama stirred up among their "friends" to care about anything else) were bitches.

Maybe my tact is part of the problem...
...or lack thereof...
My conclusion on the whole subject these days is:
*shrug*
*sigh* I agree..
^^^^^ I also agree to the above two posts.

I think one of the contributing issues here is whether you live by yourself, or still with your parents.
If you live by yourself - say in a condo - you have somewhere to bring the girl after a party, for example. You're naturally more open to meeting people (since you have more freedom of movement) and developing relationships (due to your geographic independence and not being required to explain where you're going or what you;re doing)

dude... dont EVEN send the fucking letter
Living alone - one very good point. I find it so much easier to chat people up in Kingston when I'm just with my roommates (who aren't home half the time) than here in TO with my parents... bleh. Cars are also a factor. For me the thought of having to call a taxi (or worse, take the bus with a girl) is just embarrassing.
Anyway, understand that a helluva lot of those "assholes", "playaz" etc. out there end up sleeping with girls who have boyfriends. Just because they're in a relationship doesn't mean they're sleeping with him, doesn't mean they're happy with him, doesn't necessarily even mean that they like him, so you might as well just make your move anyway, you'll find out quickly whether or not you need to back off. And unless they are the kind of girl you'd like to have as just a friend (which is fine, I have friends like this), don't you want this info ASAP? If a girl wants to be 100% committed to a guy, she'll marry him. Otherwise it's open territory as far as I'm concerned. Girls, can you honestly say you've never flirted with a guy who has a girlfriend? I distinctly remember girls who normally never noticed me start hitting on me once I had a g/f.
Just go for it buddy, ignore this rebound shit because rebound relationships die hard and fast anyway. Again, unless you want to keep this girl as a friend with the knowledge that you can't get any closer, what have you got to lose?
That makes perfect sense d00d
