There are only four history professors at Huron and I've had them all over the last 3 years...NOT ONE STUDENT has EVER received a 90..even on some stupid little research assignment worth 5% of the overall mark. So maybe students do get 95+ at the University of Buttfuck Nowhere or the University of I Made It Up Because I'm Talking Shit (where your friend obviously goes), but it doesn't happen at a REAL University.

Maybe you should take a history course sometime and see how you do.

hmm..is u of t not respectable? b/c i know ppl that have received marks like that there (my friend who went to u of t law upon finishing his undergrad)

There you go again, trying to make yourself sound so much more educated than everyone else. Come on man. I hope you realize that those marks mean shit in the real world. Guess what, when McDonald's is going to be hiring you after you graduate they will not look at the marks you got in your undergrad.

95+ in history is impossible....it is a subjective study. There is no right answer in any topic or issue and any thesis or opinion is always open to interpretation. To give a 95 on an essay basically means the essay is perfect and, unlike the sciences, there is no perfect answer in subjects like history. I think the vast majority of history professors around the world would roll their eyes upon hearing of an essay or exam that was given a 95 by one of their colleagues.

Because most of his posts aren't like that. You're provoking him to respond like that because you are speaking that way yourself.

You, on the other hand, frequently jump into perfectly respectable discussions with snide and insultful comments and expect not to be put in your place by everyone else. For your sake, I hope you stay in your Huron university college bubble for a very long time, because it's obvious you're not ready for real world human interaction just yet.

Um no...as I already said, those marks have already opened up doors for me at the graduate level with funds for research. With a Masters, the next step is a PhD. I'm also considering law school and that's entirely dependant on marks.

And I'm not saying I'm smarter than everyone on here, but people have already attacked me based on my intelligence and that's clearly a mistake.

In subjective subjects like history, philosophy, etc, the marks are awarded for essay and argument structure and support, not for content.

The grading scale is obviously based on some sort of ideal of a perfect paper; how else would you explain your 85% average?

yes they are rare, but not impossible. I'm not saying that i've ever gotten one, but i know ppl who have. and they are true geniuses. just b/c you aren't one doesn't mean they don't exist.

Real world interaction? Come on...I volunteer at my old high school twice a month helping kids with their essays. I have a part time job with the City of London driving the zamboni at hockey rinks and I have to deal with the public all the time. I've also been to England and France three times, as well as all around Canada and the United States. I'd call that the real world.

BINGO! Exactly the point.

I was making a reference that only Dj Smitty20 would know - and in such - the intent was to only offend Dj Smitty20.

And if I have offended any women on here - I'm sorry.

People have attacked you because you're posting like an idiot. Don't flatter yourself into thinking that grades translate to social skills either.

wow, I can't stop finding posts of yours that are just too, too easy.

Well I do know that I'm in the top 2% in my Honours program and the top 3% when it comes to overall average at the College. I can fax you my letter from the Dean if you wish. I'd also bet a few big ones that lot of you on here would die for my marks.

Smitty, come talk to me once you figure out how far your attitude is going to get you in the workplace.

Dude. Nobody sees anything wrong with your opinion, it's just the way in which you're saying it. Isn't it enough to just say "e isn't for me, I've tried it sure but I don't think it's something I'd do any further" and leave it at that? Instead of just saying exactly that and then supporting with no real evidence to back up your claim? As for Rj saying what he did, it's the way you came across (as Sarah had pointed out), makes you look like you whine constantly because you don't agree with something. Nobody likes a whiner...

no, actually, I'm not. Check my profile....it's been on there forever. If you don't believe me, you can call Human Resource's at London's City Hall and they can confirm it. I know many people have an infatuation with zamboni's so maybe it is hard to believe. Is it your life long dream?
