| Originally posted by bt_fan great, a cheesy trance track with a choir singing in latin, the language of the christian church for only about the last two millenia or so. how typically middle-eastern...you would be american, right? a couple may have already been mentioned, but the tracks below... deepsky - cosmic dancer (one of my faves) Black Star Liner - Yemen Cutta Connection Dub Jolly Mukherjee with the Madras Cinematic Orchestra - Kirwani (the two above from http://www.freedb.org/freedb_search...azz&id=76102c0b - a good CD) thievery corporation - lebanese blonde bt - memories in a sea of forgetfulness some remix (i think) of sinead o' connor - 1000 mirrors bonu - qora tun - this track was given to me by a friend from kazakhstan, dunno how easy it will be to find but its seriously good. |
given that ive listened to the above tracks, it would be fair to guess i noticed that they arent pure trance. and given that i stated the last one was from kazakhstan it would be fair to assume i know that theyre not all middle-eastern/arabic. im just doing what everyone else is doing, which is recommending electronic tracks with an oriental feel to them or with oriental vocals. the actual number of tracks in this thread which are properly trance and have strong oriental influences is probably very low as oriental music does not typically blend well with trance. this is different from calling the dj quicksilver track oriental because you cant tell the difference between arab/russian or whatever vocals and a choir singing in latin.
actually youre right, im just clueless and there is no way on earth anyone reading this thread and looking for oriental trance music would appreciate in any way, shape or form the tracks i suggested. congrats.
