-- Which is the best (and worst) pair of headphones?
Pages (9): « 1 2 3 4 5 [6] 7 8 9 »
thanks. i'll check them out... but i'm leaning towrads the v6...
Well, the best thing to do is actually go DEMO headphones....
Demo those "accurate" ones that I'm talking about (V6, HD25, DT250-80, if you can, they are all reccommended by me as great accurate DJ headphones that won't hold you back in any way, shape, or form), and look at some of the "normal" DJ headphones, as well. Of course, trust your ear more than you trust me...but at least try to hear the things that I suggest. Who knows. Boomy bass might be your thing, a placebo crutch you might actually need.
Oh, and, by the way, name brand means nothing for headphoens. Every Company has Lemons. Sennheiser makes the best headphones [read: they make the $11,000 Orpheus, god of all headphones], but many of their various lines suck. This is the same with everyone, every company has sucky headphones. The Sennheiser HD25 is good for DJing, if you want to go from that company, though.
P.S. I am glad that SOMEONE might actually be thinking about taking my advice! :P
Uh-oh, you're looking for MDR-V6's in Vancouver, Canada?
This has been a common problem on some other forums....

hey!
i have a mdr-v6 and they sounds excellent.
perfect low + high freq EQ.
i really like them... i didn`t know they were so famous.
many greets,
f0x
I asked Starfox about that, and the story goes, he wanted to get the V700's, but a 65 year old rich audiophile who lives next door to him took pity on him, and told him the V6's were 1000x better (which they are) and GAVE him a pair, and now he believe's they are 1000x better too.
*sniff*
It's so beautiful...I think I'm going to cry.....
hahah SF you're such a bastard
i should really go and demo them all... but i'll probably just go get those ones you're talking about, im real lazy.. hehe
MDR-V6's are very neutral compared to many other headphones I've used. They also isolate alot better than the MDR-700DJ's, and deliver much nicer sound at the same time.
I'd like to give the Sennheiser 25's a try but I just don't have the money so I'm going to be sticking with V6's for the next few years.
On a side note, when I saw Slacker mixing a week ago, he brought along his own personal pair of V6's. All our local DJ's were using 700DJ's, but I think they just haven't had the chance to listen to the V6's yet. They are quite nice.
Fyx,
Why don't you try the Beyerdynamic DT250-80's, too? What about just putting the Velour pads for those headphones on your V6's? coloring them silver like I mentioned earlier up?
THOSE would make 'em even better...and be fun to do, too!!
patticus: Sony MDR-7506 is the same as the MDR-V6!
The ONLY differences between the MDR-7506 and the MDR-V6 that I see are the former has a gold-plated plug tip and cost $30~$40CDN more than the latter.
thanks shady, i didnt know that...
one less i have to try out
how do i change the ears pads? mine are kinda... wasted..
also. is a goldplated plug any better?
thanks,
Listen, i wanna buy the sony mdrv700, now i live in israel, and i dont know where i can buy them here, i haven't found any place, so i thought maybe i can ship them all the way here, does anyone know a store online that i can ship them to israel at the chippest price??.. it would be a really HUGE help to me!!
so plz?..
thanks in advance!
Starfox, Order the Velour Pads for the Beyerdynamic DT250-80 headphones from Beyerdynamic, of course!
Their webpage is www.beyerdynamic.com, and you can easily find the most appropriate contact information from there.
No, the goldplated plug doesn't do anything.
DJ-Energy, are you SURE you want to get the V700's? Try reading this thread a little. At LEAST go for some Technics, or something...
ya dude, i read and i still want the mdrv700
....
can anyone help??

The absolute worst headphones I've ever used, were the big ass Sony's that everyone is using. I hate those damn things. I am partially deaf so I need to crank it much louder than other phones. These piece of shits won't let me go a quarter of the way on the volume before breaking up. You know what the fuck is reidiculous the Stanton phones which came with my friends DJ in a box kicks its ass. The most I would pay for those Soony's is like 20 bucks, and that's if I wanted to show off. I use the best one's stanton makes. Those you can crank 3/4's the way before you get any distortion. Plus initially they are louder than the Sony's. IE: I have the volume notch at one, and both the Sony's and Stanton's are plugged into the mixer. The Staton is louder. Plus even in comfort the stanton kicks the Sony's ass. It weights almost half as much as the Sony's. FUCK the MAINSTREAM shit, find out what really works for you. Just because everyone else uses it doesn't make it good.
i saw a rank 1 video live at trance energy, and i saw the dude wearing real nice looking technic head phones, can anyone help me out and find which one they are?
Either the Technics RP-DJ1200 or the Technics RP-DJ1200a.. or maybe Technics RP-DJ1210...
p.s.
I use the RP-DJ1200 and they're awesome!!!
Yea, DJ-Energy, like I said, at LEAST go with something by Technics....those at least are durable and can get loud!
Or, better yet, the ones I'm gaga about, the V6's...
ARRRRRRRRRRR
GLUEGUN STOP TOURCHARING KIDS
btw, maxic, its "torturing", and, I'm speaking to all of these people as if they are at least young adults. I don't check their age.
I don't just annoy kids! I annoy EVERYBODY!
*street argument*
Friend: I'M GONNA TOURCHUR THOSE CRAPPY OVERHYPED SO-CALLED "DJ" HEADPHONES, NOT KIDS!
Me: Huh, Mix2NAUGHT? (I made up that name of the dude who uses those you-know-whats.) You mean those craptacular "universally-used" Sony MDR-V700DJs?
I can think of waaaaaay better DJ headphones for $150 than those craptastic VCRAPDJs! So sell your VCRAPDJs, and then order a pair of Beyer DT250-80s, Sony MDR-7506s, Sennheiser HD-25s - anything BUT those VCRAPDJs!
*end street argument*
ShadySlim, you are scaring me...
who are you ranting at? Me? Max? Either way, you're scaring me....and besides, Max is a buddy of mine! And he knows the V6's are better and such, and why...but, dude, he's broke.... don't get on him. He'll probably get a pair, eventually, just not now! Hell, he's even started to make trance that has a lot of the audiophile-happy type effects and stuff! And besides. He has a better idea of his target audience (read: dancers, non audiophlies, people who want a BEAT) than either you *OR* me!
So, like, don't insult him. He's cool.
And, if you're insulting *ME*, I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!
Well, no I don't, but STILL!
Gluegun: Nope. It's neither you nor Max2LC. "Mix2NAUGHT" is the name I had made up for a "DJ"-styled friend who used to work at the same supermarket as I am working at. (He now works for a different supermarket.)
Uh, okay. your rant STILL doesn't make any sense, though...
